Run away. If it's too good to be true it's because it is.

What could possibly be the catch ? Seller claimed he is in urgent need of cash .. Price is the only thing that kept me suspicious but it seems like bad logic. So if seller posted exact same item for higher price, then i should buy it ?
Is it possible for a replica case with genuine movement, dial and crystal ? Are the replica cases really that good nowadays ? |

In need of quick cash...hmm sounds like every other scam sob story I've ever heard of. Doesn't sound familiar does it? Your seller is either a scam artist or extremely unintelligent. Either should be enough for you to run far away because it's screaming red flags |

Claiming to be in need to urgent cash is another red flag as it is a common for scammers to say that to try to justify why an item is listed so low. If the seller was indeed in need of cash urgently, then he could always get that price by selling it to a pawn store or a reseller.
I would say that the photos are either stolen from another listing or the watch itself is stolen, rather than it being a replica. If you still want to pursue the watch, I would ask for a Bill of Sale, along with contact details, proof of ID (such as a copy of his driver's license or passport). I would also want to confirm his ID on social media and ensure that the warranty card is in his name. Gather as much info on the seller as well as the history of the watch as you can to verify his identity and the watch's as well. |

but they can buy gen case and such if they were lucky enough to find a case and matching card. Odds of that are very slim though which makes me think this is gen. I would check against the stolen serial number database if the price is that low

Mate, if it's TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, then....SHELL OUT $4K to a stranger?!?! ![]() Seriously? ![]() He probably has a gen, took pics of his gen, and will keep his gen watch but hand you a really nice fake and give you all his gen boxes etc. Good luck... What people are willing to do to save money...sheesh. If you get scammed, you should have known better at this point. ![]() |

They don't necessarily know how much value Rolex holds and just hope to sell it like selling off any other product by looking at competitive prices and undercutting them dramatically in hopes of selling it quickly. We on here buy from really reliable sources and maybe pay a little extra for that peace of mind, but in the real marketplace of buying and selling privately through swap meets, Craigslist, estate sales, there are still unbelievable deals to be had if you expose yourself to a bit of risk and arm yourself with knowledge. But yeah, if you aren't experienced with Rolex, don't do the deal. You'll likely not even realize the Rolex in the pics is not the one you're seeing. |

Thanks again for the wise warnings.... So if i go check out the watch and see the case number matches the card, have a watch specialist open up the watch to make sure its genuine movement inside, the chances of me being scammed is extremely low?

Sure but I highly doubt that you will get that far with this seller. Anyway, despite all the replies that everyone has posted, it sounds like you are determined so go for it!!

But hey, if he enjoys traveling to that state, can have a nice dinner at a known restaurant, but no watch of course, it can be a justified trip. ![]() OP Seriously, I am a claims manager for a major fraud investigation operation. If you have not heard enough warnings, let me try one last one. Short of a relaxing flight, and a meal, there will be no other positive return from your trip. If worse case is it is a fake, which we believe this great deal to be, then write it off to experience. However, please note that in the states, we have Craig's List. Ask the users that have been hurt or the family of those killed while meeting strangers to pick up their "great deal" if the great deal was worth it. |

This is the most "faked" watch in the world. The watch you are getting for 4K is probably not the one in the picture (which does look legit) or stolen!

There is nothing no way I would trust a 4K sub. They could walk in to any AD and sell it on the spot. Why go to the trouble of advertising and pics
