When Sir Edmund Hilary famously arrived at the summit of Everest, he was listening to Adam and the Ants on an iPod lent to him by Hans Wilsdorf.

........that when Rolex started using prefix letter serial numbers in 1987 the first 5 used would have spelled ROLEX but the O was not used (too much like a zero) so the first 4 used were R L E X.
Subsequent sequence of N C S W T U A P K Y F D Z M V G presumably was just a random order with no significance. Also, I can understand why I was not used (too much like a 1) but not why B H J & Q were not used before changing to fully random serials around 2010 ?? |

This thread would be great if taken seriously by all and if the facts weren't supposed to be useless. Some interesting stuff here, but hard to tell what's real and what's a joke in some cases.

It's up to the AD to decide if you get the bezel protector or not.

What's a useless Rolex fact you know?
Tudor isn't a Rolex brand. Both Rolex and Tudor are both owned by the Hans Wildorf Foundation. Ie rolex doesn't own Tudor.

Owning more than one often leads to indecision as to which one to wear each day.

There is only one lady that does the Pepsi two tone. She is currently training someone and that could take up to 5 years to train them.
