7.75 " wrist here..........and anything less than 40mm looks silly on me..........like I am wearing a coin.

My daily wear is a 44mm Deep Sea........and I have a 40mm Sub as well.

EXP 2 @ 42mm would be a sharper fit. They wear a bit larger.

I'm 6'5, 260 and I have a Deep Blue and this YM2. 40mm is too small, IMO

It is so often talked about how large of a watch a person with small wrists can wear but very rarely is it discussed what size of watch is appropriate if you have large wrists. Personally, I am 6'7 at 250lbs with 9inch wrists and I am not sure if the new Datejust coming in at roughly 39mm is large enough to not look silly?

Only problem I see is you might need to order more links

Wear what you think looks good on you
If you feel a watch is too small, or too large, go with something else

I believe watches were arbitrarily small before, or sizes of original wristwatches were driven by the the goal of making smaller movements as a counter to pocket watches, not based on what anatomically would work or is optimal functionality (legibility, complications, etc)

And style/fashion changes, so there is no "correct" size, which is subjective
With 9 inch wrists, almost nothing will look too large, but my personal opinion would be that a 40 mm Rolex would look a bit small, and maybe even a DSSD (which is really closer to a 43mm)!

But ultimately, just wear what you like!

That looks great on your wrist!

That YM2 looks smaller on your wrist than a 36 mm on some others' wrists--see another thread about 36 mm Rolex's

It's all about what your personal preference is. To answer your question- a 41mm watch looks good on any big wrist. But if you are used to and like bigger watches, it will feel small to you, although I would guess that your eye will adjust to the size and you'll end up thinking that 41mm is just right.

I used to not like smaller watches, but after wearing a vintage 34mm Omega for a while, when I switch to a 42mm diver my first thought is that it looks way too big in my 6.75" wrist, but then I mentally adjust to it and it looks fine. Then I go back to a smaller watch and it looks too small, then my eye adjusts and the cycle continues on and on.

For me having a small wrist excludes watches at the upper end of Rolexes sizing. I can get away easily wearing 34mm watches. Even a SubC feels large on my wrist. The new SDs and DSSDs are out of the question.

Depends on shape as well as size of wrist. I am a little over 8" and the DSSD looks none too big.

I think you have to wear what you like. If you think it looks small, it looks small. So go bigger.

We live in a world where people think 41 mm Datejusts are too small. :(

Yes, wear what you like etc. In my opinion, at 6'7", 250, most watches are going to get swallowed. I had a BLNR and to everyone who saw that watch on me, said it looked tiny and had no wrist presence. I'm not nearly as big as you but have long arms and big hands. To me, it's not just wrist size.

I looked at this today and I also thought it was on the small side. 8'in wrist but really large hands. It just looks wrong. But everyone has there own opinion.

I think it will look fine. But try it on at the AD to see how you feel. A watch does not have to be big and as long as its not a ladies watch, no need to worry.

Depends on the wrist shape along with the size. However, no matter how big or small, if you are not comfortable with it, it just won't feel right.

I knew a guy in the oil business who was hard as nails. He was an independent from Oklahoma who did it all, from charming the farmers out of a lease to drilling, hauling, selling used equipment to producing his own oil. He only had the one wrist, the other had been chewed off by a pump jack when he was young. He was inordinately fond of stump jokes...are you stumped by that statement? :)

He would do a lot of trading in the course of his business and took a Piaget in on something or other. It was probably 34mm, white gold with a mesh bracelet and had a lapis dial with a diamond bezel, he fell in love with that thing.

He had to send it out to have more mesh welded in to fit his massive wrist and wore that watch as long as I knew him. My point is he never wondered even for a second about the size of the watch nor did anyone around him. People need to get to a point in their lives where the size of your watch means exactly nothing to you. :) If you hang out with people who are so shallow they would judge you by the size of your wristwatch you need higher quality friends. :)

That DSSD looks great! Especially the Sub looks great on women with smaller wrists! Still trying to get my girlfriend to wear one.

I thought I had beefy wrists at 7 3/4". I'm a pipsqueak! I think the only true option for the OP is to go to an AD and try one on.

One great thing about Rolex watches with metal bracelets is they tend to look a little bigger than their true size. The bracelet blends so perfectly on my BLRO that the 40mm case size doesn't seem small for me. My other watch is a 44mm Omega Speedmaster Co-Axial.

Sky Dweller or Deep Sea! If you like the looks of the DJ, the Sky Dweller may be one to check out.

My Dad is a big guy with big wrists and he has always worn a Sub. He liked the change from 5 to 6 digits as super case of the modern Sub seems to suit him better.

For myself I would never buy a 40 mm. I have about a 8.75 wrist I wear a deepsea I have a seiko baby tuna as well it's 47 mm the deepsea looks and feels larger though. Imho you should buy what you want.
