Wow, impressed to hear it's less than 100 bucks.

I tend to agree. Let it be the first (always the worst!) damage, or "patina" as it's better known, BUT you know it's an easy fix. The next scratch or whatever won't seem so bad. The third easier still... and so on...

If you get it fixed now, you'll do the next bit of damage and think "damn, it needs to go to Rolex again!"

Collect 2,321 areas of damage over the next ten years THEN get it serviced and fixed all in one go. Far cheaper!

It's replacing a 3 cent piece. It's a quick fix. It should be $10, or ideally it shouldn't happen - the pip sticks out much farther than it should.

Can't fault your reasoning. However, with these luxury watches, very seldom do I see any repair for such a low amount, as basic as it may be.

Just wanted to follow up on this. The Pip was cracked. Rolex said it is not warrantied however they fixed it for me at no charge. I am very happy about this. Can't wait to get my sub back.

Awesome. Congrats!!!

The pip on my 5 digit is also cracked, probably the one time I was reaching to hold a glass door and it clipped the other door's edge.

I have left it cracked.

Chicks dig scars, you know.
