At 39, the Black Bay 58 is your best bet. 39mm OP, though nice, feels like a little too much dial on the wrist (as does the modern Explorers).

36mm Oyster Perpetual is just the right balance.

39 looks fine on you as you're very close up. I like the black dot markers on the white OP, gives it a Nautilus vibe at a fraction of the price.

I asked a few AD’s in London, they said hardly anyone had expressed much interest the new OP’s mostly the GMT. But it’s still around a year away Neil. By then I’m sure they’ll be available, I hope!

In that case, I think you're making the right choice! For what it's worth, the dots on the 39mm bother me significantly less on the white/black dial versions, as they are the same color as the minute markers (just larger). The hour markers are also all the same size, and all lumed, on those versions.

Bigger question for me is whether 36mm version will receive same case updates as DJ next year, and if those are worth waiting for.

The black and white dial OPs are available in 36. The dials are slightly different between the 36 and the 39, but not appreciably so.

I’d say 36 if your wrist is under 7” and 39 if over but on displai the 36 feels better balanced.

36 looks better on your wrist, I would prefer 39 dial for not having the double sticks in 369. Hard choice.

If the movement factors into your consideration, the OP39 has the 3132 with paraflex shock absorbers.

Both look good on you. I would wait for the black and white dial 39mm OP, as I think they will be winners because of the uniform batons and the lack of colored pips.
