Thanks for sharing that picture with us Mike. Amazing collection. How long has it taken you to get to this point?

LOL! About 42 years. I'm the original owner of some of the vintage pieces.

That makes your collection even more enviable. The fact that you have been the sole caretaker of some of them really adds an intrinisic value to them.

Looking good Mike. I like that you have started to add some, ahem, diversity to your collection!

You know Michael, my first was the white 1675. I got it when I was 19. I was a Military cadet and at the time it seemed most of my instructors wore a Rolex. One had a 1675 RED/BLUE and man was it sharp!!

I saved my monthly allowance and finally had enough to buy one ($245 dollars back then--quite a bit to a cadet).

There used to be an AD across the street from where I went to college, and one day I saw it in the window and the rest was history. That watch went in the service with me and the start of my police career when I got out.

I didn't even know how to spell collector back then. I just loved the watch. Others were added as the desire struck and I could afford them.

As I learned more about the brand I began to appreciate the history and the unique place these watches hold. There are certainly some great watches out there steeped in history, but for me Rolex (especially the divres and fliers) have always held that special something.

I've just been very blessed and lucky to have used then at a time when they really were a "part of your equiment".

May I also add a very heart felt thank you to all. Sharing is half the fun and you guys make it so special.

Well, other than the oval "O" and 3 tick vs.5 tick, the LVs are the same. I put a black insert in one, but an easy swap.

Truely one of the best collections of desirable Rolex watches that are in superb condition and they just happened to be owned by one of the nicest (and very knowledgeable) fellows that your ever likely to meet.
Trying to work out what's come and gone Mike but I cannot nail it down -
IIRC you had 20, now there's 19?
42 years? - there's hope for us others yet!
Whatever - an enviable group to say the least.............now when am I getting that gilt 1675??

Thank you my friend. One of the 1680s went to new home as did the 14060M COSC. The DS took their place.

I also had a gloss 16750 that found a new place to live, but the Milgauss GV stepped up.
