I think colored bezel sub is possible, we'll see in a week!

My preference would be blue bezel with white dial (and red submariner text of course) - a bit like the yachtmaster II, only lack of dial clutter and the added date complication. THAT would be slick.

Probably the same reason why they don’t advertise the fact that the GMT LN has the same water resistance as the Sub with an identical triple lock crown.

No way it only has 100m of water resistance.
The sub's higher WR comes from its thicker caseback, not the crown. And the sub is almost certainly much sturdier than its own rated WR.

I fail to understand all this speculation and conjecture. 🤷🏽*♂️ With the exception of four individuals at Rolex, No One Knows whether 2019 will bring a new Submariner, and if so what that Submariner will look like. Be patience and don't cross the bridge until you come to it. You'll have your answer by March 22nd

116610LN-m
114060LB-m

or

126610 type update with no case changes, just movement

etc. etc.

So maybe a 124060LB or a 124060LV with a Kermit color bezel

but we shall see and an exciting time of the year for sure!

I think you are on to something with the 126610.

What about the GMT? At least 200m I reckon.

I will go on record betting heavily against a coloured dial submariner.. (although I have been wrong before - just ask my wife).

I see Rolex as trying harder to create separate identities for the Seadweller, GMT, and Submariner.

in the past, they were very similar - in fact my wife actually "put her foot down" when I wanted to buy the black ceramic sub. when I had the black ceramic GMT in the collection (lucky for me, she convinced me to buy the green ceramic sub, because it didn't "look exactly the same!")...

I could see the new lines diverging as

Sea-dweller - supersized models

Sub - classic black date/no-date (green may or may not survive)

GMT - the fun colours - pepsi, coke, rootbeer, (?) blueberry

of course I don't know anything... I just think that Rolex is too smart to let it's own models start to cannibalize each other.

Well, the issue isn't water getting in as much as the caseback pressing in against the movement. I don't know if Rolex would bother making the caseback so thick that it could hit double the rated depth. Seems like people would appreciate a slimmer watch more than the ability to break the freediving depth record. The Sub's bubble caseback doesn't sit as nicely, if nothing else.

And, going back to a comment much earlier in this thread, I'd love to see more variety in no-date subs. It would pretty much always be my choice, but right now if you want the nicer colors and metals then you gotta take the date with it.

March 20. Opening is March 21, and the models are announced at the lunch presser the day before.

And, let's not forget the possibility of a teaser video or two any day now (the last two years, they dropped the Friday before opening). You think the speculation is bad now? Just wait.

I bet they stick to the colors they have now however change a line of text color or something small for this year as far as aesthetics. Along with the movement....

It's 100 times better looking to me than any two color bezel out there, and I'd find it 200 times more versatile than the green version.

But please, I beg...no date.

Just my option I think some tudors are cool but I hate the hands. Might be able to sell me if they went back to the hands when they shared parts. I also think the bezel is not as crisp but could deal if they had different hands. Again my opinion if the hands were different I would be all over the Bucherer version love the blue and bronze!

I like the snowflake hands because it’s unique. Nothing wrong with the bezels either. Just different because it’s 60 clicks.

If they want to sink any market they have for the WG sub!

Love to see ladies sub! Wouldn’t that be cool? My gal would get more use out of a sports watch than a Datejust for everyday wear. She is too petite for any of men’s sports models.

Yes but if you read comments from Smurf owners, they bought it for the look and feel - not for the secret gold content!

I think if they make a blue version of the hulk, with the sunburst blue dial that would fit in OK and be killer.
