Congrats to this beautiful time piece. There is a waiting list for this watch so you are lucky to get one.

Wear it like mad and you wouldn't even give a damn about what the salesperson said anymore.

This.

Plus just because we have the internet and all have a common interest, he owes no allegiance or loyalty or deference to some nameless person out there just because they share an interest in a watch brand/style.

Wear it, enjoy it and don't give it a second thought!

Well said.....I think its more the triumphant attitude thats rubs...he seems very please to have stolen it from under somebody.....even if that somebody didnt really exist.....lets face it if it was such a hot watch with people fighting over it it would have disappeared within minutes

I agree with what others have said and it was the first thing that came to my mind after reading the original post. Watch wasn’t on hold. Sales tactic to create urgency to generate a response from an interested potential buyer. Sales 101 folks. Regardless, watch is amazing. Enjoy.

Is it? Readily available I thought. I regularly see them in windows anyway...

The oldest trick in the sales book!

Instant karma with an attitude like the title suggests.

Get it insured in case someone decides to return your favour.

Used car sales model. Total BS and no possibility to negotiate a deal.

Beautiful watch. Congratulations.

Congrats
If the story was true I would expect the SA saying to the other guy ‘I can keep it for you until someone pays for it’- if someone else stumps up the cash then that’s like. The watch is on display not tucked away in the safe so it’s now yours. Wear it in good health

Depends. Seven month wait in Bath. On display and waiting for a buyer in Nicosia. I was told of one for sale at a London AD when I joined my local wait list. It's not a watch which appears to be all that difficult to get. I think it's getting a bit harder as some frustrated would be SS owners have a closer look at TT and decide that maybe material value is worth more than hype.

Would that be Mallory's? Bought my OP from them, very nice shop and service.

Seen TT subs in London and Chichester recently so yes not "scarce" by any means. In your shoes I'd do the same and hang on to buy locally...

Vegas is a great place but you do need your wits about you. If there's one place designed to separate you from your money it's there...

I've seen these on sale in London ADs on 2/3 occasions in the last 6 months

Congratulations. If the watch was in the case and was represented for sale it was not on hold. No issues with getting the watch as you paid for it and the other person waited. Wear it in good health.

Congrats. Don’t lose any sleep over the other “guy”. That was just salesman talk. The buyer doesn’t exist. Enjoy your watch.
A salesperson did the same to me with a BLNR at Tourneau in King of Prussia mall. I asked if they had one and they pulled one from the safe that was on hold so I could look at it. I tried it, said very nice, handed it back and started to leave the store. Miraculously he remembered there was no money down on the hold and I could have it if I bought it right then and there. I didn’t get it but bought one a few months later at a slight discount and tax free in Delaware.

Very true. But at least he walked away with something as opposed to losing it all at the crap tables.
