Exactly! This SS scenario is just a bubble created by the flippers/greys/ADs all in collusion to cash in on the popular models. Just check places like Chorono24 and see how many of those models you see available. There is no shortage. It is just who gets it

The demand is high for Rolex SS sport watches because Rolex's current pricing for the SS sports is at its optimum relative to the value; metaphorically they have found the goose that lays the golden egg.

At this demand they can have golden eggs for years or even decades to come.

What you are suggesting would mean for Rolex to dismantle that value proposition, render their products less desirable to the market, and ultimately kill the goose.

I highly doubt you would do that to the business if it was yours.

Sounds about right. Not to mention we're already considered "soooo lucky" to be called to give them your money. So not only are people begging to just buy a watch, now we're also begging to to be charged more? Unbelievable, Rolex magic sauce is a potent drug.

Not to mention this will just circle around and raise grey dealer prices by the same or even higher margin. Not a very well thought out suggestion.

Perhaps the OP has lots of money and a price increase is no big deal.
To others, a price increase might push them out of the enjoyment of owning a Rolex.

I just can't wait for my AD to call me so I call bless him with my hard earned money at MSRP.

I hope Rolex increase the price too. If money is an issue then there are other alternative brand to choose from.

Rolex is still cheap. I want them to be in the Patek league.

Rolex is simply more desirable than Omega or GS. As far as I am concerned there is no Omega or GS that I would trade for my Rolex.

There is also no doubt that the Rolex movement is outstanding. The positional accuracy of my Rolex is for example annoyingly good. It keeps almost exactly the same time no matter what position it is in at night. I doubt there is watch movement out there that is much more robust and reliable than the movements Rolex makes.

Omega is fine but I would put GS above them and Rolex a nice step above that.

Good points. Goes to show you how little I know about watches. I choose my watches with my eyes and not much else but I was under the impression that Omega and GS were up there with Rolex as far as movements and build quality.
I just thought Rolex was more desired because of brand recognition and not much else. I got my first Rolex 20 years ago and up until a few years ago I scoffed at these 2 brands specifically, thinking they weren’t even close to Rolex. But now I own 6 Omega and I love them equally as much as any of my Rolex.

Absolutely!! Especially the SS Professional Models. The gap between SS and PM should be tightened with a considerable adjustment to the pricing of SS, just like Patek SS models.
