Your wrong

Actually - I'll caveat that. In my opinion, you are wrong. In yours, you are quite correct!

I can’t argue with that. Having both, I honestly like the black better.

Can't argue with that but IMO the absolute best looking face is this version but it would have to be stainless on oyster to be crowned best looking. I think its hideous on rubber and the white gold is irrelevant in this config.

“Best looking” ...very personal opinion, and I’m a huge Daytona fan. Those two are gorgeous watches no doubt! But, on aesthetics alone, my first pics for most beautiful Daytona are PT Daytona and 6263 big red.
It’d be tough, for me, to say which is the best looking Rolex.

You're wrong, but your accompanying photo makes you look 100 foot tall, so who am I to disagree.

These are good looking watches but far from being the quintessential modern Rolex.

I would go with the DJ 36mm or the pre ceramic Submariner for the quintessential moden Rolex.

Great photo OP! I picked up a black dial to go with my white dial and was blown away how handsome the black dial is in the flesh.

I'm not a fan of Daytonas. Lucky for me.

I like DJ and DD. To me those are what I think of when I think Rolex.

As they say, there's no accounting for taste.

I would respectfully disagree with the premise of the original post. It’s okay if we agree to disagree btw;)

However, consider the facts: One watch has stickers all over it and is running 2 whole minutes faster than the other. Wow...major points deduction there. You’re wearing two watches on one wrist - also quite odd lol! I mean Hunter S. Thompson would give you a room temperature high five if he could. We will all agree that the aforementioned cosmographs have a fine history and amazing, truly second-to-none build quality. BUT...Daytona is hard to read (especially in Black), has a low-utility complication as a stopwatch (what are we running sprints a la Usain Bolt?), and also is missing the much needed and very useful Date feature. I mean you could mix your days up and end up on a one-way flight to who knows where. Based on a surveyed sample of Rolex fanboys, notorious grey dealers, and hungry but looking single moms, I have concluded, after much research, that in the Rolex Professional Series the Submariner, GMT-Master II, Sea-Dweller, and DeepSea Sea-Dweller all have more curb appeal than the revered Cosmograph Daytona.

Finally, I would submit to all that the Submariner is THE quintessential Rolex stainless Professional watch...

I rest my case,
🍻 Cheers! 🍻

Since we're talking personal preference here I think it's wrong to keep the stickers on the black one.

I'd agree. It's the only model that still has truly aesthetically pleasing proportions and symmetry. Will remain so until the others lose the bloated Supercase lugs.

The DJ is probably still the "quintessential" overall Rolex, the Sub the "quintessential" sport Rolex, but looks-wise nothing in the catalog tops the Daytona.
