The solutions:

A - a jewellery store in Niagara Falls will send it to "our Rolex guy" for a battery. Turnaround about 3 weeks and a fee (undisclosed amount)

B - the jeweller and former Rolex retailer here in Hamilton will send it to the watchmaker they use (he's good, I've used him) $50 for a battery and gasket, $65 extra for a pressure test afterwards, about 3 weeks turnaround.

C - Drive an hour to Rolex Canada in Toronto, no charge battery replacement and pressure test, about 30 minute turnaround and oh, would you like a complimentary 2020 Rolex calendar, some chocolates, a current hard cover 234 page catalogue, and an additional Rolex pouch for your ref 1630?

Decisions, decisions....
A and B are just total Bull.S.

Option C is great if they can do the work in just minutes and you can see all the work done. Its not automatic watch and only thing needed to be replaced should be the battery, so if you know how to do the work and more gentle than most watchmakers you could change the battery yourself maybe. If you are not already working on Quartz watches then ofcourse it s better not to attempt:)

In regards to the pressure test, 1 bar pressure test would do perfectly fine. No need to push the glass to the limits and risking to break it at higher pressures unless you are planning to dive over 100 meters:)
