Hahaha, that’s awesome! You know it’s a genuine Seiko!

If that were any more off, it would be lined up again.

If it's not an error watch, probably it's fake. Alignment issue is Seiko trademark! Lol

This right here is what I've thought about for years. I like the orange matte dial on the SKX011, but not a fan of the gold accents. Yours is a perfect template for what I want in a mod. But with an Uncle Seiko z199 bracelet.

Must have in any Seiko collection.

Love the Seiko jubilee.

Also pictured, SKX007 and SRPA21... both on aftermarket bracelets.

OK I'm about to make an order... my instinct is to go with the black 007 but what was holding me back is the fact that I have the 777 Turtle (too similar), so maybe the 009 seems to make more sense. My only reservation is I'm not sure if I will like the blue dial.

The blue dial is so dark it will look black most of the time, in case that sways you.

009 ordered. If I don't like it (not likely) will exchange for the 007.

Just purchased a used one via eBay, should arrive Saturday. Not my first SKX watch, but for a cheap mechanical beater, can't complain.

I got mine earlier this year and replaced the rubber straps with a bracelet from strapcode and it has been my daily wear ever since. This watch was my first introduction to the watch world. Its not much but its not gonna be leaving my collection anytime soon

Mine is not an SKX, it's a 7548-7001 quartz precursor to the iconic shape from about 1980. I compromised on the bracelet a little as I had some credit on Amazon so I purchased the Endmill 22MM bracelet from Miltat. the difference is the endlink configuration, which I did notice but thought what the hell! I do love this bracelet but still like the endlink condition on the Uncle Seiko much more.

Looks great

That solid endlink on the Uncle Seiko is tops and cheaper than StrapCode.

Hopefully you are not using the undersized quick release spring bars on your Seiko. Those things will fail.

Purchased this 009 from eBay last weekend, arrived yesterday. Not my first SKX Seiko, but I sold the last one many years ago as I got into higher end pieces. That said, glad to have one again. They are awesome watches.

Love my 007 & 009.....crafter blue and Strapcode do some nice straps for the SKX.....so versatile, proper strap monsters..... the beauty is the pure simplicity of the design and the mechanics of these watches, look great and run forever...... and if you decide to sell they sell quick.

Love this thing. I’ve worn it for weeks as of late. Holds its weight with pieces 20 times the price.

I call this my ghost pepsi SKX, it is circa 2004 and has led an interesting and hard life, it came to me after a friend passed last year.

Thanks buddy. I wear it more than my Tudor Black Bay. It’s one of my favourites.

New guy to the forum checking in with an 013. Love mine, growly rotor and all. Mine's on a canvas Barton. I saw the warning on the quick release pins above, does that apply to the Barton straps, the 007, or all the Seikos?

OK my 009 arrived yesterday. The pepsi is even better than I thought it would be. Except... chapter ring alignment (which I was prepared to accept as a normal thing) but what I can't accept is it seems the date is not centered in the aperture.

Is this normal for an SKX? or did I just get unlucky? My Turtle date is perfect and the chapter ring is out of alignment but not by much and is only noticed at the 6 O' clock index if you look for it.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. It's a watch made by robots. You'll also notice the Day/Date doesn't change rapidly at midnight.

I take out all the quick release spring bars on any strap no matter what make and no matter what watch it’s going on.
