Exactly. It's the only thing that comes between me and utter poverty when it comes to some of the watches with which I've become enamored from time to time.

My personal favourites are: 1. A very very early Zenith Daytona, with all brushed bracelet. Do not like the polished center links... but... 2. ... I do not mind to have it on a new Daytona 116520 that also has polished lugs. I would go for a late serial with broad/wider hands. Do not care much for WG... I prefer white dials on pictures... but tend to wear black dials most of the time... Good luck. Post pictures! Best, A |

Here's the bottom line:
So, what would be your deciding factor? GOLD, ZENITH, NEW or LOWEST PRICE? Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Allan |

That price on a mint WG is pretty hard to beat. I would buy that if I could get that price. If you don't buy it direct the seller my way.

IMO, the deciding factor would be the appeal of the dial first and foremost, assuming all your choices are in good condition. I believe that for most of us, watch purchasing is primarily an emotional decision and there's no point buying a gold or platinum watch at bargain prices if you don't really like looking at it, either briefly or for an extended period.
For example, I've read on this forum that many people buy the watch of their dreams and end up gazing at it for long minutes without actually registering the time! That is something I can totally identify with and although discussion about movements, clasps, gold vs steel, black vs white, etc. is important, the visual appeal should IMO, be what decides it for you. Having said that, to my eye the WG dial looks the best, followed by the white Zenith. However, you have to decide for yourself which looks best on your wrist...good luck deciding! |

new wg is selling at $20k... what series is the $14.5k wg you were quoted?
my vote goes to the wg... dial is so much nicer and the weight will feel good. |

The new SS Daytona with the 78590 clasp - it's a beauty and an engineering marvel!

The first Rolex (and I have owned a dozen or so) I ever bought new was my TT Daytona and there is nothing like being the first one to peel off all that protective film...... Sigh.....[/QUOTE]
Absolutely right! New SS will give you that pleasure. |

My favorite watch is my black dial WG Daytona on the bracelet. The dial is beautiful and the weight of the watch really makes it feel great on my wrist.
If you can find a good deal on one, grab it. If you can buy it right, I think it is better than than money in the bank. |
