Congratulations Brian, I certainly know what you mean by the comfort of this model, it just fits. Unfortunately the rest of my collection just do not feel quite as comfortable as they used to now.

A great watch and would ordinarily be well and truly on my radar if I were looking for a Sub as there's a lot that's right about it
Shame about the movement

I hope it serves you as well as your previous references

Possibly the best proportion of any sub I've ever had - let me go down the line. 5513, 1680, 5 digits date and no date, Rail Dial Seadweller, 114060, 116610 and a couple of 2 tones. These are all beauties that have come and gone through the years of collecting and learning.

So in a nut shell for me, this new 124060 takes on a wearability of a slimmed down 114060 and spreads out over my 7 and 5/8 wrist more like my EXP II 42mm watch. I just can't say enough about the comfort ( for me anyway ) The proportions look like a modern nod to a classic 5513. The differences are subtle. Obviously from a spectator perspective no one would be able to visually tell the difference between the 114060 and this new model, the difference is clearly for the wearer.

So without going on and on - if the question in your mind is "why should I get this model, is it really different than the previous?" The answer is yes it is in spades. Now - if you already own a 114060 and are happy with it, do you need to sell your soul for this one right now? - Maybe not. For me, I currently did not have a 6 digit sub in the collection and with these minor case adjustments it really comes through for me in every way.

Cheers!

First off congrats on the watch. It looks awesome on your wrist.

I completely agree with your logic about getting this because you didn’t own a 6 digit version already. If I didn’t have a couple ceramics already, the 124060 would be at the top of my list. Enjoy the watch!

Yay, you got it! Congrats Brian!

I agree with your assessment 100%. Over the past 20 years I’ve had a 5513, 1680, 14060, 116600, and a 114060. The reason I went through so many is because I was looking for the perfect Sub (for me), which I now know is the 124060.

Enjoy your new Sub, can’t wait to see some underwater pics!

Ill be honest. I cant tell which is 114 and which is newer. I mean especially on a big wrist, someone who wears 42mm watches... I dont get it. I think both look nice! But when i see posts of new sub, i cannot yet tell at first glance which one Im looking at.
