That would be a no for me: not a fan of black ceramic insert and I love the GMT red/blue configuration.

I'm biased and just prefer diver style faces over chrono's. So I would keep the GMT. Much more interesting and useful IMO.

Will never trade or sell my Pepsi. Absolutely love the watch. Personal choice… everyone has their own opinion. Best GMT made. IMHO, l the Daytona is not the best Chrono made. There are many others I would prefer to have.

Definitely a difficult choice, however, based on the scarcity and value you get in the Daytona, I would have to lean in that direction. The Daytona is just special.

Both are good to have so no trade for now and save more money to get the other one.

Have both. Would I trade my pepsi for the daytona? Money-wise always. Wrist-time never. The daytona feels much smaller, and basically strictly tells time (no date and screw-down pushers). So i dont wear it often. The GMT on the other hand, feels much more substantial, has a date, has the gmt hand, rotating bezel... just all-around so much more useful. Love the pop of color on the pepsi. Love the sleek look of the daytona. For me the daytona is the 10 that is disappointing in bed. And the GMT is the 8.5 that is really great in bed.

I’d stick with the Pepsi.
While I don’t like the cyclops it’s still a manly watch, in my opinion the Daytona doesn’t feel special at all, in fact it’s too small and a unisex watch

Form vs function
Totally agree with you and exactly the reasons I sold off my Black 116500 and bought a GMT 126710. Opposite of what the OP is contemplating. Two entirely different pieces and I can actually read the GMT.

I did keep my 116520 White which is much easier to read.

Tough choice if it’s one or the other.

very different flavors

if you got the pepsi at retail and you can do a straight trade for the Daytona ceramic, that's a good move
you can always come back to the pepsi and probably stay net positive
but it will be hard to go the other way

Ah, ok, it’s the ceramic one we are discussing?

That took a while.

I though you referring to the 5 digit as that IS the ‘Pepsi’.

That would be a different decision and outcome.

Pepsi or Daytona?

I like both watches, but if I was in your shoes I would do the trade. You own a SkyDweller that has a GMT function and add the Daytona which is an iconic Rolex sports watch. Best of both worlds.

You can always add a GMT in the future if you missed the BLRO; a lot easier than trying to add a Daytona. Good luck with your decision.

The BLRO is a watch I've been waiting for and knowing how hard it is to get from an AD, I personally wouldn't give it up. Would rather be patient and add later.

The GMT is infinitely more useful than any non-date chronograph, so I wouldn't.

If you absolutely must have a chronograph, I'd get the new Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Sport. It has Daytona DNA, a date window, and 1/10 second timing increments. It's also available for a paltry $10k MSRP.

It's a very different watch you'd want to keep both.
I had 116710LN in 2010 but didn't sing so I flipped.
I pulled the trigger on black APH dial 116520 in 2016, happy with it.
Felt my collection incomplete so got me a pepsi 16710 last year.

I'm in the GMT camp. Never had a desire for a Daytona.

Straight trade? Do it. The Daytona is definitely harder to get and worth more on resale than the Pepsi. Yes....the GMT is easier to tell time on, has a date function and is basically better for telling what time it is but the Daytona is just a much better looking piece and the market finds it more desirable as do I. Daytonas have an appeal that not everyone appreciates but when you own one you may find that a watch you didn't really think that much of previously becomes like that girl you "suddenly noticed" was hot. You'll be walking around with the watch on your wrist like "Smiling Bob".

Controversial I know, but the Daytona has never excited me… I’d keep the GMT as I think it covers far more bases, and add a different chrono:

- Speedie
- Tudor BB Chrono
- Zenith El Primero Chronomaster Sport

That’s just me, you need to do what’s right for you

Beyond whether you want a chrono or a GMT ...

To me, the BLRO wins out for its splash of color and subtle good looks after you've had a few

if it is a choice between either or at MSRP then I'd go Daytona, same as if it is a straight up trade.
