I have both, and you have to if you can.
Believe me, the Lange movement and its finishes are above Patek. On the other hand PP has a better aura, recognition, and value retention. I also find it more useful to have the day, date, month indications than a chrono. So for me it's a slight advantage to the 5205. To choose is difficult, because very personal and no bad choices at this level. You have to try them, and follow your objective preference...

Is like comparing suv to sports car. 5170g is a better comparison to 1815 chrono.

I agree, not really comparable. If you are care about having diversity in trtm of brands and want a Patek, 5205g AC is a good option (if you don't mind the design flaws mentionned earlier). If you don't mind two Lange watches and want one the best manual chronograph movement in the market, Lange 1815 Chronp is the best option.
