I had both. I only have the Platona with baguettes now. If you want to make money then the 5711R. But the Platona with baguettes is much nicer in my opinion in terms of actually wearing.

How about a more discrete white gold 5811?

l don't even bother to answer your question. it's like someone asking you to choose between a Bentley and a BMW.

5711R

But new PP shipment of 5711R at this point? Or has the watch been in AD's safe for a long time?

I think your argument is flawed.

If Rolex comes out with new model of Daytona, I think it will be a good one anyway. If you preferred the old model, you still can get it from the secondary market. The world economy is pretty bad right now, I don’t think the price will go up much.

I imagine you have other more discrete pieces in your collection to be offered these two from your AD. So, with that assumption I'd go PP

Had a couple Bentley cars and now drive a BMW with Dinan mods. Far more usable car, cost less to service, fast service times....

Congrats and enjoy!

I would have chosen the Dayonta personally...I find full rose Pateks to be far too blingy personally.

That said, I'd take a 5811 all day long

Horses for courses or whatever they say
