Well, if the Day-Date is 3x the price and you describe the dial as "meh" why not get it and see if you like it more than you think you will? You never know!
I'm a big fan of buying exactly what I want and never looking back. Maybe figure out which DD would be perfect for you and then wait for that one?

The DJ is 36. What size is that DD?
To me, the DJ36 in blue is crazy nice. I agree about that DD might be a little drab. Good luck! |

What size is the DJ ? Age? If 41, then 12k seems like a really, really good deal. If 36, then no. Should be closer to 11. |

The exact DJ OP asked about was listed in Moda two hours ago for $10950 plus label. Full set, unworn. I personally wouldn't pay above 10 for it on the grey market right now.

My first Rolex bought new in 1984 was that exact configuration albeit a previous generation of Datejust. Very classic that it’s still being offered.

It's the main Moda group, "Moda Watch Club." There's also a separate group for 10K and under. I found it by search value 126234, then sorted by most recent.

If it was the updated one, with deconstructed romans, then yes.

if you're cross shopping a day date with a datejust it means white gold is not for you. the two watches aren't really comparable but that day date is too basic for me to begin with so i see where you're coming from. that's why i feel like everyone's first DD should be colored gold

if that's the one you originally wanted then it's a no brainer to go for it imo, assuming you have some other watches though because it's too flashy to be a daily these days even though it goes with everything. i have a 36 with the champagne dial and wear it with whatever

If no tax on grey, he’d almost break even on price. Maybe lose $5-600 Dj41 MSRP is $10,600 plus tax. I like the DJ better. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Just picked that exact one up, except with the oyster bracelet, at an AD in Southern California a few weeks ago. I think the retail was $10,300 + tax. I love it.

You can probably get the Day-Date cheaper from a grey dealer, than the AD. If buy it preowned, can save thousands of dollars.

DD in gold is a hard pass for me.
Personally prefer something simple that won’t attrack attention. |
