I've got two watches from them, my store says Vc doesn't play games and I will get mine eventually, but there's close to no hope of getting it this year. Guess the wait list is pretty mad |

That said, as with the yg 222, I'm extremely disappointed with the date window. It should not be moved inwards but we all know that's because 2455 is too small, and why are they so hell bent not matching the date background colour with the dial is beyond me

No actually. I have bought zero. I spoke to the the SA over the phone today. We met a few times previously and attended a VC event following an invitation. He said they have a display piece at the boutique which I am going to view next week after work commitment and then first piece may arrive late march/early April. He will see what he can do in terms of allocation for this year. So we will see whether things come through. If not I am more than happy to allow the VIPs to get them first and wait for my turn. There is no rush from my side. But overall response seems pretty cordial and optimistic

Yeah go visit them! They are a nice bunch. All the watch boutiques are in Pavillion KL, and the AP boutique is opposite in Starhill Gallery. All can be entered without appointment, but AP is 50/50 -sometimes they want appointment, sometimes they dont. Have fun and enjoy your visit to KL!

A very nice release, but I’ll pass since I prefer my watches to have a seconds hand. I’ll wait and hope they re-release the square 222 someday.

Lazy rehashing of what had been... nothing new.... compared to innovation by independents, this is pathetic

I'm surprised by how different the gold version looks! I have a strong preference for that I think.

Both remakes suffer from the changed position of the date window. Maybe a Richemont thing as it reminds me of the poor date positioning on the IWC Mark XVIII (and even XX) vs the Mark XII and XV. Even if the date was positioned the same I'd still prefer the OG 222 for the movement alone. |

I really wish manufacturers would just stop with the "automatic" on the dial. It drives me crazy. It's like a truck saying 4x4...who cares?

it's also part of the "romance" of mechanical watches and arguably the best form of mechanical movements (although some manual watches are more beautiful and unobstructed by rotors) compared to digital Apple Watches or quartz micro brands that are making a comeback anyways, this 222 is so beautiful. how hard is the 222 YG to get these days at retail? just so I have some benchmark for how hard the steel would be. I know the YG was super hard to get at first but now trades well below retail. wondering if I should try hard to get it at retail (first piece) or just wait until the hype subsides in a few years and get it used |

Love it, but I’d rather own a 16202

Vacheron 222 in steel
I think most of the comments regarding the aesthetic of this watch are somewhat misleading.
The 222 is a release under the brands “historic” line. Meaning it is basically a rerelease of a watch from the brand’s past. It is made to be as faithful to the original as possible. Yes there are some changes, the movement being the most significant, and some changes to the bracelet to improve the wearer comfort. But the overall look is the same, the wording on the dial, and the case size etc etc. It’s not for everyone, but it needs to be taken in the context of what it is. A nod to the maisons past. It is not a new line, it is not an overseas. The brand has plenty of other references if you want water resistance and power reserve and complications etc etc. It’s beautiful and perfect in it’s own right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nothing new …. Well it is a release under their historique line. It is not supposed to be new. And as you seem to be so into innovation, look up Twin Beat so satisfy your curiosity. VC is not for everyone, but nothing they do is pathetic as you put it. Far from it. You’ve just not understood what this is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

similar to the [RE]MASTER strategy from AP, but unlike the Remaster 1 and 2, which were decent releases (but not great), this release from VC is a fucking masterpiece. and AP is my favorite brand. I don't like VC that much either since I tend not to like richemont. but this particular piece is amazing honestly think AP needs to hit a grand slam with its 150th releases this year to be able to compete with this release from VC |

I actually think it is priced right and would be glad to pay the price to wear it! Now I just need the boutique to come through for me.

In tribute to the uninterrupted creativity displayed by Vacheron Constantin since 1755, the Historiques line provides contemporary reinterpretations of iconic models from the prestigious heritage of the Maison. So the goal is to offer modern interpretation, not repeat verbatim what was done 50 years ago. Now maybe my comment on lack of innovation rings more true? If not, I will elaborate. So what should modern integrated bracelet watch offer in terms of functionality. Let’s start with adjustability of the bracelet. It should at very minimum offer micro adjustments, full stop. Now let’s move on to power reserve. Is 40 hours really all VC can offer particularly given the breakthroughs it had with Twin Beat ? Isn’t it lazy just to throw 40 hours at collectors? How about movement u ask…. Well, u have hacking second position yet no zero reset mechanism like offered by Lange or many other independents. Isn’t it lazy??? How about a sports watch having control over winding mechanism so one can engage in rigorous sports activities like offered by Urwerk or RM? Of course not, that would be too much innovation for a brand with 200+ years of watchmaking! Now, how about water resistance u ask? Is it now like sub? No, we downgraded that too. Modern men ain’t the same, 50m is all one needs down from 120!!! That is pathetic part in case u are wondering! So what does this watch offer? Hype, full stop…. People hope it would be a repeat of Nautilus success. It ain’t, look at gold version of this watch. It trades below retail. Now, there are good attributes associated with this watch and I understand why some find it attractive. Yet masterpiece it ain’t!!! |

I read that the back is signed for the 270th anniversary but I cannot figure out which part is related to the anniversary. Can someone help point it out to me?
