It doesn't bother me at all, but I know for the average consumer it will, so FLP will go the extra mile to hide it. As for those who do not get a reply, I'm not sure why that is, but that isn't the first time I've heard of this. I remember the first time I emailed I never got a reply but a few months later I emailed an inquiry and someone else took care of me... |

Of course, my reply prompts replies like this: "Well, FLP is a French brand and they aren't mass produced like Louis Vuitton, it should be French, etc..." To each their own, I guess. |

With all the talk of out of stock items I wonder what they actually have in stores for the holidays. You would have thought they would stock up their inventory a couple of months ago but evidently not.
I did ask about availability at the Galerie Lafayete location and was told they were also out of the wallet I wanted. |

I've been wanting to post here for the longest (alligator) but my best amateur attempt includes forbidden items in pine cone.
Great thread!!

I know their quality is great, but I am LV, mainly because I like only one design, this one, have the bag pictured, the belt and the card carrier, have had them since 3-5 years, and they look great, the Goyard and FLP designs are not for me, even if the quality might be better than LV, LV quality is enough for me, and I started to like LV once they put out their grey damier design, before that I didn't like them much...

Oh..if you like LV you should check out their new Monogram Eclipse line for men. It's a nice masculine take in the Damier Graphite colors but with the traditional LV letters. I picked up a Keepall 55 and it complements the Damier Graphite pieces nicely. |

I found the Made in Spain in the large opening side of the small wallet I bought. Who really cares? What I want is quality and so far, I have that.

I inquired about six items from Le Page. Here was my response:
Dear Sir, We are sincerely sorry that all the items that you requires are currently not available. Guess my wife and I are not getting on this bandwagon. Lol |

In fact it is cheaper than Goyard for normal reasons, first unless I am mistaken Goyard are made in France, says so on their card holders, FLP is made in Spain for most of their production as far as I know, and Goyard same as LV has leather inside, FLP is fabric, so seems there are differences which clearly explain if there is a price difference.
As far as design goes I like the simplicity of the LV damier in graphite, but it would be cool if they had new colors for the damier line, would love a nice blue or green, surprised they haven't done it yet. But when looking at the LV prices they have skyrocketed since I bought my last items, now I find them a little too expensive for what they are, prices were ok when I got my items, but the same items now cost too much IMHO, so when will come time to get something new, card holder as I have a few wallets, I might take a look at a green FLP, but I might still get myself a damier backpack, they are really cool, and for something like that I can understand paying 1200-1600 euros, but 330 for a card holder I have a hard time I must admit, especially when I got mine for 150 or 180, don't remember exactly, maybe 3 years ago, can understand a certain inflation, not all inflations... |

Agree about the decline in quality of LV products. Started collecting them over 30 years ago and their newer hard travel cases ($$$$) with wood have split multiple times. They don't bother with basic things like dovetail. The quality of canvas, and especially the internal, has gone downhill beyond belief. What was once leather or high quality thick cloth is now flimsy plastic, which is why i had them fix my wheeled travel case that fits commercial airliner specs.
In fact some, dare i say this, Chinese knock-offs seem better made (!) than authentic on certian items. Note that there are higher and lower quality Chinese clones. IMHO the downhill slide started when LV was bought out and chured by the conglomerate. Then they opened manufactuing in spain, then the USA. Amazing that what i paid 1300 for is now 3000+ for the same basic design, yet far lower quality. So seek out vintage LV is my advice... or when in Asia check out street dealers provided you're aware of scrutinizing built and component quality. What i do find interesting is that some of their more intricate designs have been phased out over the years. What i mean is, items that take great talent / complicated to build have been phased out. Just a little example, I got this satchel, or bag, not sure how to say, 4-5 years ago for 450-480 euros, and now 1440 euros, are they nuts to inflate the price to such a level???
A good old 300% inflation, why settle for less... And if it is like I read here, which is these crazy prices and crap quality, I would go crazy to have some crap at these prices, luckily the things I got still look great or almost new after many years, the only crap product from them I got was a key chain, was supposed to be a solid piece of laiton, only problem is that very soon the plating started to fall off, it looked really crappy and cheap, a friend with the same had the same thing happen, I went to see them and at first they tried to say it was normal usage, "how can it be normal usage if plating falls off a piece supposed to be one piece of metal? So basically which is not supposed to have any type of plating", they did agree with me and offer a replacement, which 5 years later never lost any kind of plating, still don't understand what happened on that first one, but it was really a piece of junk, so I guess I was lucky and got them before their quality went downhill and at great prices if to compare with now, esp the satchel, can't believe it went from 450 to 1440 in less than 5 years http://ca.louisvuitton.com/fra-ca/pr...raphite-001018 |

Yup lapince.
BTW i feel i need to add a bit of clarification, LV does make a few good pieces here and there. Also, seems to me Singapore gets 'A' quality on some items whereas USA gets 'B'. Decades ago the care in matching and lining things up was nearly fanatical on all pieces worldwide. Interesting you mention plating as originally it was raw metal for zippers and bits. Years ago they started gold plate and, as you experienced, problems can happen. Call it more style versus substance. Yes LV has improved a bit here and there from their 'shame period', yet you need to choose carefully on an item by item basis. Some of the very rare items i have are so well made it makes me proud to have them. I walk into LV stores nowadays and it feels like a facade of what was once a true luxury brand. Funny, i feel the same way about Patek (make of that what you will). Perhaps my age and experience is also a factor, yet empirical evidence seems to say otherwise. ADDED: Here's something never for sale on it's own. Was in Europe and this item came with a belt, and is made to hold currency/coinage. As you know, in Europe the wait staff have a 'pouch' or some sort and provide currency / change when you pay your bill. So this was probably made for a very limited time for that purpose. Since it was perhaps one of the better 'newer' items (circa four years ago or so) i 'had to' get it, plus yeah could always use another belt i guess LOL! And yeah, bunch of stuff wife/i share (more her than me). There's LV stuff inside that stuff. (rolls eyes, yeah, i know, whatever LOL!).

@arnaud. There is a blue damier it's called cobalt. The new black grey monogram is nice but I think mono is too in your face and best for my wife. Quality is mixed. I have a Michel backpack that seems to last forever and a nylon gym bag that actually folds into itself that has lasted forever. A 5 suit carrier (epi) is guaranteed to crease your clothes and lost its press stud. No longer in manufacture they did repair by. Asking a new piece. Just took 6 months.
