Neither - it just kinda gives it some intrigue. Until you tell someone it's in it, you'd never know. It's there in the background once told though. I include it more for its micronutrient profile than anything else, but it does add just that hint of je ne sais quoi.

I almost never make the same chili twice, but this creation was one of the better ones.

In terms of protein, I usually mince up chicken livers and add that to get some retinol in the kids but those didn't make the cut this go 'round!

My wife decided to invite some friends over for dinner tonight.

Mixed field greens salad with heirloom tomatoes, fresh burrata, and tossed in an aged balsamic vinaigrette.

Bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, shaved and grated parmigiana reggiano and balsamic vinaigrette. Taking advantage of the seasons offerings.

Egg Pappardelle with homemade vodka sauce using San Marzano Tomatoes and Tito’s Vodka.

Chicken Marsala with Portobello and Shiitake Mushrooms served with oven-roasted asparagus. 3/4 of a bottle is used in this dish to create the sauce. Reduced down creating a flavor profile over the top. Cost prohibitive for a restaurant to use that much Marsala, but that’s the only way to get the intense flavor.

Planning to smoke meatloaf tonight - first attempt. Will also put the mashed potatoes in the smoker for the last hour - why not!? Hope I remember to take some pics.

Dinner at a farm to table restaurant in Tijuana MX last night. We ate at the top floor bar area that had great vibe and music playing. Food was very good and local beers too.

Comfort food night. I made a small pork roast in a marinade of honey, soy, garlic pineapple juice, and a few herbs. Simple stuffing, corn on the cob.
Smoked it all over oak and hickory wood. Sorry no pictures, already eaten.
