Maybe in the hidden caverns of F1…..Andretti pissed off some major sponsors or team principals back in 1993. He left and never finished the season with MacLaren. Who knows, it is a fraternity after all.

People just need to look at what Andretti has built in America with his Indycar, IMSA and other racing programmes to realise they’re more than capable of being successful in f1.

If you read Uralkali press release from July it states that HAAS need to deliver a car from the 2021 season. The point being that Mazepins father has a large stake in Uralkali so wanted one of his sons race cars |

The Official Formula One Thread!
Uralkali has since released the following update:
"Uralkali confirms that we have received in full the payment owed by Haas (including interest and fees) following the ruling of the Swiss court of arbitration. We have also collected the race car owed to us with the sponsorship agreement." Done and dusted Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You're making an assumption there.
"Collected" means they arrived at Banbury or Kannapolis (wherever the car was stored) - this takes no time at all to have it picked up. Uralkali is satisfied... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Theres zero chance that A) haas would hand over a current car, nor would ferrari allow their engine to be handed over B) the cars would be released by the fia parc ferme and handed over to Uralkali a mere few hours after the race. C) Haas Contract completed in 2022 would say theyd give Uralkali a 2024 car which never bore their name or driver. anyway, dont take my word for it, take Uralkalis https://www.uralkali.com/press_cente...ses/item46940/ |

I read it, but it didn't say that they got Mazepin's car, but that they got a racing car. However, where was it taken from? This event was only limited to Belgium because the enforcers were there and not in other countries. From this I think there was no question that the Haas headquarters/storage was NOT occupied by the authorities. Regardless, for me it is unlikely that it would be the 2021 car, because Haas could have handed it over a long time ago, since the sponsorship contract was only canceled in the middle of 2022. There was no point in keeping the old model. In 2022, however, Haas DID NOT have a car driven only by Mazepin, as on the one hand he constantly wrecked it, and on the other hand the remaining was driven by the next pilot. That is why I suspect that it is impossible that the 2021 car could have been delivered to Belgium in such a short time. In my opinion, only the shipping would have taken more time. Not to mention how much it would cost to send the car there so quickly, so that it has to be prepared for delivery beforehand. That's why I think they simply took a car from Belgium. It is of course possible that it was a spare car, but it is certain that Ferrari had no say in this, because Haas did not "give" the car to Uralkali, but it was seized by a judgement. At this point, nobody cares about the agreement between Haas and Uralkali. However, let me say it again, this is just a humble opinion, a thought, nothing more. I will simply be curious to see what will happen to Haas towards the end of the year, whether they will be able to finish the season at all, or whether Andretti will buy if from Geen at a bargain price. ![]() |

Sergeant out with immediate effect at Williams. Franco Colapinto in. Have no clue who that is other than an academy driver.

The article is on their own website following their own court case, and clearly states its the 2021 car in the third paragraph…. ![]() The car doesnt need to be shipped to belgium or holland, it just needs to be handed over to an intermediary acting on the courts or the sponsors interest. Haas didnt hand over a car previosly because they were still fighting the case until july this year and would have been an admission of guilt Hey, im leaving this now though because if you believe your opinion over actual facts from the parties involved i cant say anything to change your mind so little point in trying further ![]() ![]() |

The second seat at Williams has been cursed since "GOATifi" had it in '20. Shunting SAR was just a matter of time... he has cost that team an ungodly amount of money, money that Dorelton (sp?) likely doesn't want to spend on repairs, instead of R&D --> upgrades. ALB seems to continue his love with Williams, which is a safe place for him. He (ALB) won't win any titles (the developmental leaps Williams would have to make to be a pointy-end-of-the-grid contender are too big & costly), but he & SAI will make a great time. It seems they're both respectful racers.
Reading up on SAR's backstory & family, they may have engaged in war profiteering, so I'd assume they're happy to continue to prop up his future racing career, likely in some kind of GT series.

I know people don’t rate sergeant but I think context is useful sometimes. He won in F2 and F3 finishing 4th and 3rd in the championship respectively. Even to make it to that level you’re insanely talented and deserve a career in motorsport. The days of random pay drivers that we had up to the late 90s are long over and you have to earn your way in these days (even if sometimes more talented drivers lose out because of bad timing or other reasons) He’s had his shot in F1, it didn’t work out but deserves a chance in GT racing or other series. |

It's been a long time since Williams had a pair of drivers the caliber of Albon and Sainz.
On the topic of Williams, or any other team, I really don't think car repair bills should be a line item counted against the budget cap. |

I generally agree, but a caveat. Without the financial hazard of budget cap inclusion, any time I wanted to have "free" upgrades, I'd crash the old chassis. Then add the upgrades without harm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Unfortunately, Kimi Antonelli crashed out in FP1 wrecking the car. Hopefully this doesn't shake his confidence. Another reason why crash damage should not be counted against the salary cap as we want to encourage young drivers to develop into F1.

In sum, the Cost Cap:
The cost cap is a fixed figure that limits the amount a Formula One team can spend in a calendar year. The cap is $135 million. The cost cap includes expenses for car components, upgrades, spare parts, team personnel salaries, and transportation costs, (but not driver salaries). This includes cost of replacements for damage of any kind - no exceptions. If you like to see the source doc: https://www.fia.com/events/fia-formu...administration And click F1 Financial Regulations link in that webpage if you are a lawyer, or if you prefer death by 1,000 paper cuts. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Thanks, that’s clear. Was misled by the “salary” cap.
