Really not sure what Tesla and GME have in common (i.e. one has underlying value, one doesn't)

I think most would tend to agree to an extent. There is a ton of hype that is pressed into the stock. Then the other side says this will be the future standard for all cars and they will be the leader. How high that growth is compared to current range is causing the speculation to even drive it higher.

We are at the stage now where people are blinding piling in. With no negative press or caring for values these days its definitely fair to say what you are saying.

Obviously we are taking out the component that the GME model is no where near the concept of what Tesla built. Unless they create some pokemon cards that are worth 1mil a pop. The huge short sale setup component is not on the table either like GME was.

I don't run numbers, just pure outside view of what's going on at a human psych level. I play most everything on volume and real world use of what the company is actually trying to achieve. Definitely lots of overhype stage elements here. I've owned TSLA since 75$.

Also agree with that.

Plus TSLA hasn’t the 130% shorted volume GME has had.

The thing they both have in common is Social media has created both stocks to become what they are today.

Agreed, but apparently, according to someone just on CNBC, Robin Hood now does their own clearing which is why they needed to draw on a new credit line yesterday and have limited purchasing. Too much risk in their system. If I was a customer of theirs would be running fast.

i wonder how many people were selling calls of gme/amc without any idea of how it works, or trading on margin, and then just caused it to domino from there

Need to adjust that tin foil hat and read up on T+2 settlement.

There WILL be tribunals, witch hunts and scalps taken. That train is never late. When publicity hounds with power like AOC, Liz Warren and Ted Cruz agree on getting someone, anyone, in front of a national crowd, it will happen. Make sure it isn’t you.The Uber hack Secretary of the Commonwealth of Mass, Bill Galvin even went on CNBC to light the first torch
(The fact that they hate each other is irrelevant. It’s always about the same two things: raising campaign cash, and the next election. If you need to burn for either, watch out for the lighter fluid being dripped on your feet)

What that does to options trading remains to be seen. They are vilifying shorts, without understanding how traders hedge their positions to trim exposure. That is too complicated for Twitter.

My experience with YOLOs in this market is that any random 3-4 letter ticker will go up, except the one I YOLO on lol.

The WSB craziness is highly entertaining. I'm in way too deep in BCRX and just spotted this: https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetb...omment/glb3qxg

I'll dream all weekend about fat, easy, and fast gains if any of this achieves traction come Monday. $BIOWAR$

a lot of people getting in now are just trying to get rich quick off gme/amc. they'll (probably) get burned and disappear shortly after unfortunately. none of these people are downloading to buy apple stocks or whatever other legit stocks lol

I am thinking a "Selective" rotation happens. where the fast money stocks get blown apart and the previous leaders regain.

That said...slowly accumulating bitcoin as that went through many bubbles and still standing. its been battle hardened now IMO
