I paid about $100 for it, and it's good, but not $100+ good... I love the Rye Batch 2 and their Bourbon batches are phenomenal. This stuff is tasty, I find it similar to the Barton 1972 releases from this year, but for that price I'm not a follower and won't be buying another one. I might still pick up a second bottle of Rye Batch 2 and am on the hunt for the Rye Batch 1 (bottled the month of my kiddo's birth, so I was going to keep it for his 21st B-day). I messaged back and forth with Dixon (Dedman, the owner/blender of K.O.) on Instagram and he said Rye Batch 3 and Bourbon Batch 9 are currently in the works; both will be at barrel proof, as opposed to the sub-100 proof Confiscated. He said he's not a big fan of sub-100s and that the Confiscated at barrel proof was exceptional, he just had minimums to meet in order to get it out. I'll have to believe him, I guess; but I'm in for the next two releases.

Let me know what you think. Now $99 at local Costco, IIRC.

Nice pick ups from the fiancé today!
ORVW came in the mail on a trade and the angels envy rye was a local pick up

Good at $99, but not for what I paid. I thought KO raised all their retails prices. Out of curiousity, what is MSRP for the current rye and bourbon release and what part of the country?

The current Rye Batch 2 retails for about $200 and the Bourbon Batch 8 retails for $300. I have found the bourbon for about $270. Both are currently sitting on shelves quite a while. Both are Nationwide releases, or at least larger releases than the previous batches.

I'm looking for a Rye Batch 1 at a reasonable price, or even a Bourbon batch 6 or 7, but the bourbons are crazy on the secondary.

Man, I'd love to have a bottle of that ORVW 10 but I'm not paying the crazy market rates... You're a lucky man to have a fiance that knows her whiskey or is at least willing to pick stuff up for you. My wife would buy me a bottle something terrible because she "liked the label".

My local place just got 6 bottles of the KO Confiscated for $129. Worth it?

Haha she went to the store knowing to get the angels envy; it’s the thought that counts.

For the ORVW, I traded 3 GoT scotches so indirectly paid grey prices with grey trades haha

Please let us know how that Angel’s Envy is. I’ve been looking but have yet to find that exact bottle.

so that's right on point for what i normally pay. i assumed that this confiscated was similarly priced and i picked it up for $300

worth it is so subjective. judging by the number of watches you own, i would say for a person of your means, it would be worth it. for me, the taste was underwhelming, but it was worth it to have as part of the collection. and again, i way overpaid, thinking it was close to retail.

are you an angel's envy fan? every iteration i've tasted from them is sweet, even the barrel proof stuff. it's not bad, but really not my preference.

Not so far. I’ve only had it once and didn’t think it was all that. I’m always interested to try another version.

I'm a huge bourbon Fan. This is what I bought on our last Bourbon trail trip. I have a few other more difficult to get bourbons such as E.H. Taylor single barrle, Eagle Rare 17year, George T. Stagg 15 year, 4 months, William Larue Weller 12 year, Pappy Van Winkle 12 Year, Evan Williams 23 year and Elijah Craig 21 and 18

Notice all but one listed are out of the buffalo trace distillery. Evan Williams is out of Heaven hill as are both the Elijah Craig's.

Also scored an Angels Envy Cask Strength, with the last 6 months in a Port barrel.

Was at a local Costco where multiple cases of Kentucky Owl Confiscated were being put on the shelf. Price tag of $99.99. Didn’t buy any after chatting with a good friend who’s very active in the bourbon forums. Apparently, the sentiment is that KOC isn’t that tasty, and he provided background on the speculation/concern of where the juice is sourced from. Add to that the lack of an age statement, and it was an easy pass for me.

So for everyone who asked about the angels envy. I really like their basic pour; not too hot, not too sweet; with that though, it’s not my favorite daily pour.

The angels envy rye is in its class of its own. Very sweet and you can taste the Caribbean rum, it does taper off a tad spicy, in a good way. Definitely more of a dessert bourbon than a regular drinker.

My two favorite daily’s are EHT Small Batch and Blantons.

Unfortunately, they're both ridiculously difficult to nail down, especially at retail. I did find a bar with ORVW 10 for a good price per pour ($12) but I can't find Weller 12 in my area for the life of me. None of the stores have had it in years (Antique 107, either...) and I'm not paying $40 a shot at the one place that buys it on secondary. Sorry not sorry. I think most of the good stuff in Nevada gets eaten up down in Las Vegas and the distributors don't send any our way up north.

There are 2 bottles near me, have to check which batch. One is priced at $300 and other at $500.

Latest acquisition. Pretty good!

If I had to venture a guess, it's the Rye Batch 2 and the Bourbon batch 8. Those are within the range for each on secondary.

A Batch 6 bottle is now upwards of $900, if you can even find it; Batch 7 is upwards of $800...

This all reminds me of a certain watch brand we all seem to love...
