Wife tried this one when we were out to dinner in the city and it's pretty nice. Easy, smooth drinker. I pick up a bottle every now and again. Enjoy in health

Balvenie 25 Double Cask is still one of my favourites.

That said an Abundah is pretty good for a special occasion!

Which I should share photos. Too much of a stalker not a commenter on this forum lol.

Found this guy at my local Raley’s supermarket, where I actually find the majority of my good bottles.

Has anyone ever done a barrel pick? A couple friends and family members of mine have been shooting the idea around and I think we’re going to try and make it a reality.

I just reached out the the contact at Buffalo Trace and Tom Foolery’s (we all live in NE Ohio) to get pricing and details. Seems like it should be 8-10k and yield about 175 bottles.

I’ve read that someone has done a barrel at Jack Daniels. The local bar here Dot Dot Dot in Charlotte gets one every year.

I've bought a barrel of Jack Daniels and will be heading to Lynchburg this weekend to pick out barrel number 2. For your first time through the process, there is a lot of work depending on the specific barrel program picked. I don't know about Ohio, but states with "state owned" abc stores are tougher to deal with. Taxes are a big portion of the cost and it does vary between states. 175 bottles would be the low end. It can range from ~175 to 260. For our first barrel, we got 234 bottles (750ml). Feel free to send me a PM with your phone number. I'll be glad to go through all the details we went through and can give you some good advice for use down the road.

Does Jack Daniels let you pick the proof you want? Or is it all 47% like their standard Single Barrel? I have had some bonkers barrel Proof Single Barrel tastes, and if that was an option it would be awesome.

I’ve tried getting friends in one a barrel pick, but their wives are all cheap and don’t understand the point... I would save and go at it alone, but I could never get through that many bottles on my own, all while trying to get other cool stuff. Wouldn’t be worth it for me.

I received an email a few months ago regarding buying a barrel of barrel proof, but it was only sent to Tennessee Squires. I don’t know if they do this on a regular basis. I’ll be there this weekend and can ask. I’ll let you know what I find out.

A couple bourbons in and a 15% coupon later - couldn’t resist these Norlan glasses. The tumbler is HEAVY as it says and does not disappoint!

Did you open the blood oath? Do you like it?
The local Costco here has it for $85. Would like to get a feedback if you don’t mind. Thanks!
Peace!

Hey - sorry haven’t opened the blood oath yet, but I’ve heard some good things about it. It’s also just a cool bottle to have!! For 85 I’d go for it. I paid about $110 after tax in ohio

Played in my club’s member/member tourney recently, and there was a bourbon and whisky tasting the first evening. Blessed to be able to sample this........
