176 votes so far, and a 60/40 split with white having the upper hand. This is consistent with comments I have seen on other threads as well, with white being the more discussed color on the 216570. The reality is, there are no bad choices here!

Funny, I tried both today ... my wife was with me, the white was "mehh" but she actually said the black "talked" (she did use that word ... and she never read anything about watches singing and similar nonsense we do).

I agree with her (of course). I prefer the black, by a long shot.

If I had a SUB or GMT, I would definitely do white, but I don't, so I am... perplexed.

I chose white! Just stands out as different from all the black faces. A good change up if you already have a black face in your rotation. If it's your one and only, then maybe black. Really can't go wrong.

Looks like the stormtrooper is winning by a landslide! Congrats to those who own the "popular" color ;-)

...but which would be considered more appropriate for shorts, t-shirt and sandals? I need casual, which is why I am selling a President.

Either one will do. I do not consider one more casual than the other. You just need to decide which you like the best and jump, you will not be disappointed.

X2. I prefer the white and think it is perfect for a casual look, but both fit the bill. Get the one that sings to you most.

I would have gave my right arm for a matte dial on a modern day Rolex sport watch years ago, finally Rolex gave us one and people chose white.

Way to many white pics, we need to balance it out a bit.
