Just about any Swiss auto is an anachronism, at this point, but I think a lot of us still want to use them as intended.

Old thread revived.
I will be looking at a 5513 or similar for my next piece.

With the proliferation of parts-watches, it's a tough call. I purchased my 5513 brand new 33 years ago when it was the current model so there were none of the worries about authenticity that exist now. Were I buying my first one now, I'm not really too sure which way I'd go...

I prefer the feel and look of the 5513. But it seems like a headache to maintain and look for. Not sure if I'd want to go through the hassle.

Does any one have a tropical 19 crystal for a 5513? Mine is a little under the weather after 35 year of construction work it has done it's service.

My 5513. Much prefer it to the modern.

I bought a birth year 5513. The white gold surround later version is too contemporary. The 5513 is the quintessential reliable sub and, I would highly recommend looking around, taking your time and finding the right one.

There is ur answer. You’ll never scratch the itch until u get one. If u can afford it, 5513 is a no brainer.

Keep it serviced n it will last a lifetime. Just make sure u use qualified independent watch makers rather than rsc.

I blame it on autoconnect.
