Looks nice now and if the big watch phase passes you won't care.

Switching from a 36mm Ex to a PAM, I can understand why you think the Ex is small. It's a mind thing... I have a 44mm model as my largest and a 36mm as my smallest. if I switch from one to the other, I feel the same way you do for about an hour or so.

36mm looks great on my 7 1/4 wrist on a PICTURE, and looks like a girls watch on my wrist in real life. I tried a few to realize it wasn't for me. It is kinda flat and sharp edged, the oyster date might be a better fit though. Up to you, but I would not go for this if you feel in real life it looks feminine. It will always bug you, no matter what the forum approvals say. if you got that thought in your hand, you will have hard time kicking it.

I enjoy my Navitimer, an older model, in the classic 43mm size. Can I get away with it? Sure. Is it really as well proportioned to my wrist as, say, a 36mm Oyster Perpetual? No.

The reason the 36mm looks smallish to your eye, as you suggested, is your eye was accustomed to larger watches, like the Panerai. Wear the Explorer exclusively for awhile...your eye will adjust and those larger watches may look too large. But don't worry. When you want to change up, just allow your eye to adjust to the new size.

Wise words!
