Congrats on your first Rolex. You only get your first one time. No matter which watches you get next, the first one is always special. And of course if you hang around here you will definitely have more watches. I'm sure that's normally a 15 minute walk to the AD, but with your first Rolex there waiting for you I'm sure you were booking it.

Rolex knows their customers are willing to wait - however long it takes. The low SS supply will become the norm. This will ensure we all pay MSRP on SS models. Also, there is a phenomenon whereby low supply and high demand will increase demand even higher; kinda like the “jumping on the bandwagon” affect.

This makes total sense. It makes sense that an AD is only allotted so many of a particular model based on their location and volume of sales.

I think this will be the new norm. Rolex wants prices and demand high plane and simple.

The booming metropolis of Collingwood (everyone is 5 minutes from the AD here )! Yes, kind of odd to find an AD here - they have been representing Rolex for 40 years. He also mentioned that Rolex told him that they'd never approve of opening a location like his in the current environment. Oh, and they are also requiring him to remodel his store to have a 'mini' Rolex boutique rather than just 2 display cases and a devoted section only for Rolex. Kind of a tall order IMO given they aren't meeting his watch supply requests. It appears Big brother is getting a little demanding - it's no wonder we're seeing the smaller AD's disappear!

My AD is doing the same thing. Rolex is making them remodel to have a boutique. I think this will be the norm in the future.

My AD mentioned that in the last week he as learned that his Sub allocation for 2018 is a grand total of 8 watches - and he has already received 5 up until today. He is frustrated to say the least - he used to have 2 on display to show customers and now he can't even get them in to satisfy demand. The last Daytona he's received was a year ago from Feb! He can't understand the lack of product and he indicated that answers are nowhere to be found.

As far as my SS BLRO request goes - he's much less optimistic that we'll see it anytime soon. He's still receiving watches from his 2017 Basel orders. He also commented about demand - he is getting inundated with phone calls and requests to be put on lists from everywhere.

So, there's the 411 - I am super excited to get my first Rolex - it sounds like it may be the only one I'll be able to purchase for a (long) while.

Today I was in a place in Miami that brings together all kinds of watchmakers and jewelers. Given a return I saw there would be any amount of Subs and infinity of watches of different brands and new and used Rolex models and all types of new and used brands. Reading these forums that talk about shortage and all that .. I wonder how it could be that there are so many watches available? And let's not talk about downtown, there are also many gray dealers.
