Mime is a stainless DJ with Jubilee bracelet and engine turned bezel. The engine turned bezels are stainless steel, the fluted bezels are gold.

Needs a bezel, fluted looks to blingy and without looks like something is missing.

Fluted for almost all. My one exception is smooth bezel on the TT Wimbledon.

I would choose the fluted bezel because (a) the fluted bezel reflects light in a beautiful pattern, (b) the fluted bezel completes the classic/iconic DJ look, and (c) the fluted bezel hides scratches better then the smooth bezel.

No love for engine turned, the best Datejust bezel of them all?

This one's been in the family since new in 1977. If l was to purchase one now I'd go for a smooth bezel on oyster.

I'd want Fluted on Jubilee for a DJ41.
That way it would compliment an Explorer 1 on Rubber B band.

Fluted + Jubilee = dressy
Smooth + Oyster = sporty

That's just my opinion.
With that said ... my wife loves her Smooth + Jubilee

White dial with painted Roman numerals and engine-turned bezel is my ideal Datejust.

Fluted + Jubilee looks pretty sharp on that particular DJ. I prefer WG over YG fluted bezels in general. Cheers!
