Thanks, I never thought I would see it again! Now, I have to sell one of them! Or trade them both for something else, I just don't like anything any better than this style, I have been wearing it for almost 20 years.

Ooo plenty of watches you can trade your extra 16628 for. Nice story! A spare 16628! I'm about my 3rd or 4th year into ownership and have to agree it's a fantastic watch.

OP, how did you get it back? I have a lost/stolen Daytona on several watch lists, have been told the most likely way I will get it back is if it hits the Rolex service center.

I’d sell the replacement and keep the recovered one. Every time you look at the time you’ll be reminded of the sordid story.

Would probably keep the newest one, the old one would remind me the issue more than the new oke (or sell both and buy something else)

I reported is stolen the day after it happened spring 2017 and the local sheriff's department called me a couple weeks ago to tell me they had recovered it. They offered no details on how they got it, I do know it was a couple counties away, but that's all I know.

I am going to keep the newest one, it has the extra links in it and keeps pretty good time for a Rolex! Now, I just need to figure out the best way to sell the old one.

That’s great police work by the Sheriff’s office. Glad you got it back.
Oftentimes the criminal or an associate is apprehended on an unrelated matter and your property (along with other people’s property) is recovered. That’s how I got back one of the 4 Rolexes stolen during a home burglary. The police also recovered several important sentimental jewelry items of my wife’s.

Before you do that, write Rolex USA to advise them its recovered - and to remove it from the theft database (if the one you’re selling was the one stolen). That way the new owner doesn’t run into a problem with RSC later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
