I walked into my local AD, negotiated a discount and paid under MSRP about what you've just paid over. That was in early 2018. Later in 2018 I saw one more Polar in their window, and have seen none since, despite the window displays being half full. I suspect you've got yourself a good deal. This week.

Congrats. I bought a grey market, 3 month old black 216570 2 years ago and now need a white one. I have a polar 16570 but after wearing the 42MM it's tough to wear anything smaller. Hard to believe today what a "bargain" I got on the black dial 2 years ago. I called around pre-lockdown with no luck of course. Your deal doesn't sound bad, especially if you love the watch (which you do!)

The 42 really goes feel like the perfect iteration to me as well man. Glad you have the black, both are beauties! Hopefully the newest polar becomes more accessible post pandemic so you can complete your desired pair man!

If I had to say I use one as my everyday watch, that is the one. I’ve had mine a little over a year. I paid $8,100 all in, delivered by mail, my name on the card.
