Daytonas have hall bearing rotor bearings and yes they are noisy.

Anyone who can’t hear a 4130 rotor needs a heating test.

Your watch may be fine OP. Is there any way you can compare it to another Daytona?

So sorry for the mishap but you have to fix it from your pocket.

Talked to my grey and he said the same than you. Went to get my 116505 to compare and you both seem to be correct - it’s the rotor making that noise. I Never shook my watches before. When I hold the Daytonas real tight and shake them I can only hear a very low swinging sound, rattling wasnt the correct word when I first described the noise in the case . You can’t hear them in Subs as far as I can tell though, neither in my Batman or Sky Dweller - my Omega Seamaster has the same sound when I shake it. And that one I never dropped I think. Panda still keeps perfect time and the power reserve also seems ok. Guess I got very lucky :)

my first week with my skydweller i hit it on a doorknob while day drinking with my cousin. he did the same to his 15202. the doorknobs at the mandarin are huge or something.

destroyed the bezel, huge chunk missing. since i bought it with my amex, they covered the cost to replace it (~$2200) under purchase protection claim.

Got it back in 3 weeks and hit it again LOL, this time the glass. ill send it for service when the 5 years is close.

That is painful to look at, sorry to see this pal! And twice? Call that unlucky. That’s why I love ceramic bezels, indestructible. Banged mine against door knobs and concrete walls dozens of times, never even a scratch.
God bless Amex though! :)

A few years ago I put my Exp 39mm Mk 1 in the pocket of a denim jacket. Unfortunatly it was swept up and did a mixed wash cycle 40 deg C (104 deg F).
On the last spin I heard an unusual metallic sound, I said to my better half: what's that?
A terrible thought occured. I immediately stopped the machine.
The Exp was still going but the crown had unscrewed slighty and there was condensensation under the crystal.
A day or two later I took the Exp down to RSC at West Malling in Kent.
They were very nice, of course, I felt twittish and embarrassed to say the least!
It was necessary to replace the crystal as there was a small chip, the crown and the dial and hands with Mk 2. It all came to about £1100 ($1450).
I feel I was very lucky that more damage was not done and have learnt another lesson. But as one go's through life one is learning all the time!
I did have doubts as to whether I made the right decision to go for the Mk 2 dial and hands rather than the original Mk 1, but am more or less now.
However, for all this happening I now have complete confidence in my Exp 39mm to go into the spa, steam room and sauna but I always double check the crown!
