I know people have multiple grails, as do I. However I have my attainable grail, the beautiful 116515 chocolate dial. I know many prefer the full gold, but if I had that I know I would never wear it.

Would also love to have a 6263, but prices are too far out of reach.

There are a few watches that I consider grail watches. One being a WG GMT with blue bezel. However, I don't think that I would really want to own one. I probably would not wear it that much.

I'm pretty happy with what I have.

isn't a grail UNOBTAINABLE?

Isn't it supposed to be something to strive for and you want to get but just out of reach

If you get your grail, then was it really a "grail". Then its really just a watch that was hard to get but you eventually got it.

Every time I get my grail, a new grail reveals itself.

The story of the perpetual grail.

And I´m sure and hope you´ll enjoy it for many years to come! It´s been said a million times, but the Submariner is indeed a timeless classic. I´ve never tired of my 14060, even after 26+ years of everyday wear. Nothing betters it as far as I´m concerned, so I suppose it´s my "grail". Nice pics, btw!

I wouldn't call it a grail, but I've purchased many other watches before and after the 126660 JC and they don't get wrist time. The JC is special and works perfectly for me.

Q: Do you already own your Grail Rolex?

Like I said previously, the word “grail” gets thrown around cheaply by todays’s watch community. They know nothing of the trials that must be passed in order to obtain an actual grail…

Trials such as only the penitent man shall pass, walk in the name of the lord, and choose wisely…

Happy where I am now plus waiting for the “orders” I have with my AD and I think I’ll be good.

Grail would be the meteorite dial Daytona in rose gold, a step behind is a DD with baguette numerals and champagne dial.

Happy hunting to everyone.

One grail after the others, always looking for the next one.

The next one should be Platona or PM Daytona with meteorite dial or Plat. Day-Date.

My grail is the 116610LV, which I was "fortunate" to get at 20% over MSRP before the insanity went off the scale.

I have added more Rolex watches since, all of which I was delighted to acquire, but none have appealed to me as fanatically as the Hulk. I have no idea why.

I guess grail is usually assumed to be PM or really hard to get like the SS Pepsi or Daytona, but it’s not clear to me that grail is synonymous with favorite watch. Just looking at Rolex, some watches that would meet the grail definition for me would be Meteorite pepsi, platinum DD with the ice blue dial, full gold rootbeer, and ceramic Coke, should they release one. Would I actually like or wear any of those more that my TT blue sub or DJ41 azzurro blue? Probably not. Well, maybe the Coke GMT.

Every time the fleeting thought of getting another watch crosses my mind (Tudor BB GMT, Pelagos 39, Rolex GMT master 2 CHNR, air-king.. etc), I’d look down at my wrist and see this beauty staring back at me.

Then I put those thoughts out of my head. It’d be nice to have those other watches, but I’d also be perfectly content and happy with just this sky-dweller.

First time doing that but oh well. Its incredible!!!

That’s amazing. As these go down in price I very well might pull the trigger on one in the gray market. How’s the experience with the watch so far?

My experience is that its only declared a grail during the hunt.

Once obtained, shortly thereafter, a new grail engrains itself in one’s psych until it too is obtained. Tastes change too, rendering a previous grail, well, less so…

I had my grail watch (yellow gold submariner). It was a great watch that I enjoyed, but I needed to sell it to pay off another loan. Only problem was the bezel didn't line up correctly, (I know Padi, seconds in a day, etc, but I thought the bezel should line up.) I now have a 3230 sub that is spot on, and a 1990 day date that works well in any situation. Sometimes Grails need to go after obtaining them...
