Thank you everyone, as for employment I am in the construction arena, mostly in the field and my weekend/ hobbies are sometimes spent building engines and fabricating.
I had to decide early on whether I would constantly take off my watch and put it safely aside, or just wear it and enjoy it all the time. I chose the latter. Thanks for the multiple posts, I do agree a service is in order, but I am not sure on the polish yet. I must say, the camera shows all sins and it looks better in person and shows very well on the wrist. Great forum here, I haven’t logged on in a while and just now catching up on different posts and topics. |

I'm in construction also and also keep watches on when working on cars etc. Just keep wearing it until it stops then get it serviced, change the crystal, change the bezel insert if needed but don't polish it. My 5 digit sub went 17 years before it stopped.

Get ahead of the problem.
It’s been 12 years, your skating on thinning ice. What if you were on vacation this summer and it stopped? And please have it polished. |

Very cool.
No way I would polish. There's something cool about seeing that amount of wear on a full PM piece. So much character on that watch, don't erase it! |

I'm going to go against the genaral feeling here.
If that was my watch I'd have it professionally refinished. Each to their own, but to me it looks beat to hell and back. Patina is one thing but to me that looks terrible. However it os of course your watch to do with as you please and without care. Also, after 12 years a service and pressure test would be sensible.

I love reading threads on here when the OP has inherited dad/grandads watch that has been worn everyday for 20/30/40+ years, the watch is battered but has a lot of history/stories.
In another 10 years this will qualify for that, get it serviced but dont polish the history out of it.

I’m with the consensus, service
the watch but don’t polish. I think it looks badass. Well done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
