Oh geez you're right. Damn swiss watches or rather their owners ability to read them correctly. I set my GMT hand to what I thought was Basel and I was off by two hours

You should consider quartz.

I'm guessing it will be three new watches. One for the marine (sub or YM getting a make over). Second for a traveller and third a completely different line of watch. Something like SkyD was some years ago.

There is a twin lock watch being released for sure. I already know that the steel Datejust 36s will be updated tomorrow. That is a given. Last year they killed off the gold 116238 and updated all of the TT DJs with Oysterclasp and 3235. So this year steel DJ is losing the concealed clasp.

Now whether another twin lock watch is coming out I don’t know. Maybe new EXPLORER II?!?! Reference 126570? Or 226570? With black ceramic bezel of course. I think the Explorer II would look awesome with the ceramic treatment. The hype would be real.

i think it would be a hit and more proof that people prefer jewelry to tool watches. Its true.

Ceramic makes it jewelry.

Same goes for aluminum vs ceramic. The only feature of ceramic that is positive is it is scratch resistant however in a tool watch setting it shatters and scratches on steel are absolutely not damage nor is fading on aluminum.

i do think we should separate the last minute leaks vs their year round predictions. The danger is the stuff that comes in at the 11th hour then gives credibility to the stuff they predict all the time. The YM has been a standard prediction for a few years... now when some photos surface the day before thats a bit different. So its like there is two separate things going on and one should not necessarily affect how the other is viewed

There is clearly a difference. In 2017, he'd been predicting a 40mm red line SD without a cyclops for months leading up to Basel. A week before the event, he updated it to exactly what it was: a 43mm red line SD with cyclops. He got a correct leak, but prior to that, he was guessing like everyone else. This year is no different, except for the fact the leak was a day before the event, and for multiple watches. No doubt he has a source, but I'm not at all convinced he's getting good intel all the time. This is the first leak that panned out in two years.

Rolex Teaser

The leak was a disservice to the community, and I will remember it negatively irregardless that it was correct.

I think it even affected the rating of the new watches because we see them differently, at least today. Hopefully we can see them with fresh eyes in a week or two

It was right, unfortunately. So kudos to RPR and a big to Rolex & Tudor for the direction they are taking.

i will say i got the WGYMOF right and they didn't. Even with the leak they left out the WG part as far as i can tell and that leak came after i called it

Point being i made an educated guess and i got a lot wrong too. no different then them or others. No idea why they are somehow different to other people guessing. everyone is hit or miss and taking anything anyone says other than Rolex too seriously is crazy. People want to assume they are totally credible and that is a mistake

Well, it's not an amazing leap to think that the YM would be white gold given there isn't a single Rolex on Oysterflex in steel; but well done anyway.

I realise you are not a fan of this person because of his prediction hit rate but in the end, his pictures were correct. So a sliver of humble pie might be in order? Or hat, you said you'd eat your hat.
