It doesn't follow the curve of the insert. Do a forum search for vintage 1675 inserts.

On the price scale of this watch, the difference between an aftermarket and service bezel insert is negligible. Both are basically worth nothing.

Hey Op.
See this to the end. At worst, it’s a learning experience. Very interesting. Good luck! |

Thanks Tensai! I understand some members think the thread is boring or worthless now. I wanted to call the gentleman today but didn’t get a chance. I’ll try tomorrow or Monday. To ask about the original bezel insert. If he hasn’t found it I’ll probably stop there. Thanks again! |

Keep us posted. I feel that it is worth to investigate further and it is always nice to have the first owner watch. Hope it turns out good outcome for you. Good luck mate

Do your own research and if you feel the watch is for you then get it. |

Alright forum, I am back.
Talked to the gentleman this morning and he said he can’t find the insert or the paperwork that the watchmaker gave him :( Due to my lack of expertise, I am deciding to stop the pursuit of this watch. I was never looking for a 1675 to begin with, I was just excited once I saw one and met “the original owner.” Thanks for all the support. I am happy that I learned a few things along the way. and sorry for wasting your time guys :( Thanks again! |

Stop it. You didn’t waste our time... this hobby wastes our time. It was fun to discuss. Ignore those that grew impatient.

Sounds like you made the right decision. Still fun to hunt, though!

The hunt is full of ups and downs, but that’s part of the fun.

Love this thread and you did great all the way OP. I'd have done the same with the exception of asking anything here to avoid the snarky comments and I'd try to find the answers myself, so you're braver than me. Happy new year. Cheers.

Thanks for posting here, OP! It was fun to be part of your journey and, although this one wasn't a success, still lots of great learnings for me (and I'm sure others).

Shame it didn’t work out
Passing at that stage was the right call. Sometimes it’s too easy to get hung up on one thing like the “original owner” and forget what you were really after

Sad to see this thread come to an end... It takes patience, insight, luck and sometimes a little risk if you want to snag a deal in the wild, but the chase can be very rewarding. Next time take more pix for the forum!!!
good luck with your search. |

Sorry it didn't work out, but definitely keep trying to find watches in the wild.
