I love the original Kermit. The crown guards are more graduated and less bulky/severe vs the hulk/updated Kermit. The aluminum bezel also glitters when it catches the light. This is a photo from a while back when we were still allowed to go outside and do stuff...

I don't know if there's an argument for one over the other since both are solid. It all depends on how it looks and feels on your wrist.

What’s the argument for the ceramic Kermit over the hulk?
Nice!! See, you just don’t get those subtle shades with the black dial. Shoot, even an SD 116600 has the ability to look matte or glossy. I think the 2010-20 decade of Rolex will stand out in the future for quite a few of their pieces. [EDIT] I had the black SubC, and when I had the chance to get the Hulk, I quickly got rid of the black. Just a personal preference. An argument over this would be a HUGE waste of time though. But that said, if I had a choice over the new black or the Cermit, I’d choose the black. The bezel is not what gets me about the Hulk. |

If I had to choose it will be the 116610lv every time as you can't ignore that beautiful sunburst dial.
The 126610lv definitely wears better with the new bracelet though. Dimensions wise you either like the maxi case or you don't, there are arguments for both camps. The upgrade in power reserve is irrelevant for most people as you either wear it all the time or as part of a larger rotation so the power reserve will either not be required or will be too short for 1/2 days a week of wear. Side by side you'll be hard pressed to see a difference, unless you take them outside into the sunlight, where the 116610lv is a different animal. |

Both great watches I think the 126610 fractionally has the lead most of the time, but then the sun comes out and the 116610LV bursts into life pips it at the post..

For me:
16610LV: The Original 50th Anniversary Sub. Discontinued, yet with many variations on the dial and bezels. More elegant/classy, a transitional piece with smaller lugs/cases yet with Maxi Dial/Indices. Love the way light plays on the Aluminum bezel. The only downside is that the bracelet/clasp is definitely not as robust and functional as the 6 digits. 116610LV: The only SS Sub to feature the green sunburst dial, also discontinued (though 10 year production). Very vibrant and striking. Personally it's too much green for me but to each his own. Super reliable movement, great bracelet/clasp. Definitely going to become a highly collectable watch years down the line. 126610LV: Improved proportions and 70 hour power reserve. The true accuracy and reliability of the new calibre is yet to be seen, but thus-far I have only heard mostly great things about the new movement. The Green bezel + Black dial combination is what I preferred as it is more subtle and elegant - again, to each his own. All three are great watches but I personally prefer 16610LV = 126610LV > 116610LV

I dont like the new kermit as much as the hulk because I dont like the skinny lugs amd skinny crown guards or the bigger bracelet and clasp.or the black dial or the noisy 3235 .the hulk is king

I much prefer the new Kermit. The hulk is just too green for me, and I’ve had it now for close to 5 years. It’s a cool once in a while piece. Again, very subjective.

It's entirely subjective. What we can all agree on is that the new Kermit is just another black sub with just a green bezel, and the the Hulk is the first all green sub with the most beautiful green dial ever produced. .

Sunburst dials just don't do it for me. Kermit would be my pick given the choice.

Its all subjective of course, there is no better, there is just preference.
Neither for me. But if forced to choose and original 5 digit LV isn't a choice, it would have to be the 12LV. I absolutely hated the maxi case.

The sunburst green dial of the Hulk is, to my taste, one of the top 5 dials color of Rolex production, but I prefer the effect of the Daytona YG green dial, because of the gold bezel; indeed the green bezel of the Hulk makes the watch too green.
Putting a side the different case / bracelet (to me the new 41 win easily) between the two watches I would buy the Kermit for any collection of 3 to 5 watches, while for those that have a large collection (i.e. +6 pieces), I would say that the Hulk would fit nicely. What I would be curious to see is the YM with the sunburst green dial and eventually the Jubilee bracelet. |

Hulk is too much green for me - I prefer green bezel + black dial combo.
