From the listing pictures it showed a watch with the new factory stickers on the side of the case. I was expecting a newish unpolished watch. eBay authentication told me no such stickers were on the watch like the listing showed. I already had a good 16610LV and was getting this one since it seemed in better condition. When I learned the pictures didn’t match I questioned its true condition and opted out. Later the seller told me he just posted some existing pictures he found online for the listing. Crisis averted. It was nice to talk to a person live from that authentication service.

There are a few listing for watches on eBay that don’t have the eBay authentication check mark in the listing. Be weary of these listings. Maybe you bought some of those?

I bought an omega smp off ebay once. The authentication people called and said the watch was legit but the ad claimed it was brand new and the authenticator said it had a poor polishing job and could not be called brand new. I had the option to accept it, return it, or negotiate with seller. I sent it back.

I would probably be more concerned if they “authenticated” the watches without looking inside! Let’s just hope they pressure test them appropriately upon closing them up.
