I just hate that Jake thinks it means he’s the GOAT if he beats Tyson 20+ years after he retired.

Good marketing, good payday, not sure if I even want to watch it though.

I really hope Mike wins so this can be the last we hear of this clown, but given the Paul brothers are marketing machines. It’s probably going to end up favoring jake

At least it'll be more entertaining to watch than Formula 1 'race'.

i don't think he's delusional, he's just an expert marketer. you don't get to have the kind of pay days his fights do without it and that's just boxing and fighting in general

he basically just said he's the face of boxing from an attraction standpoint which isn't a crazy statement given the crazy ppv numbers of his previous fights. i imagine this fight will shatter his previous records

Steven you need to get onboard with MotoGP. You won't be disappointed.

Malasian GP opening laps. Wish this track was back on the F1 calendar (sorry for going a bit off topic)

Rooting for Tyson of course but expecting trickery or disappointment.

Love MotoGP, and when i was having fun tracking the Ferrari (morning open test and tune sessions)..... afternoon sessions was my motocycle buddy (sponsored by Ducati and Dupont). Knee draggers are incredible, big time, but am more a four or more tyre kinda guy.

Agreed. But he's the face of boxing to those who dont know or dont follow boxing.

Anyone that knows and or follows the sport, realises this is more WWE than real boxing. Yes, they dress it up as boxing and it all counts towards their pro records , but this is nothing more than a cash grab for all involved. Yes, a very impressive one!

I think it's funny that this is being discussed as if it's fight of the century, and it's credit to the marketing machine that even on a watch forum, we are now on page 4.

To put this into perspective, Jake couldn't even beat Tommy Fury. Despite all the rubbish you were told about him, he is not even a regional level British fighter.

Finally, there is some hope. If you want to watch some high quality boxing tonight, watch Taylor Vs Serrano on the undercard. Now that's a good fight.

the WWE analogy was what I was going to use and if views are all that matters he probably draws in a bigger crowd than any real boxer.

None of this makes him a true boxer in my opinion though as he never has had to go through the hierarchy everyone else does to claim a spot.

Boxing isn’t exhibition matches, so I don’t really understand how someone can call themselves the “face of boxing” when he hasn’t fought anyone actively working their way through the ranks and is admittedly calling everyone out as they age out.

It does nothing positive for the sport or boxers who have fought their way to the top.

If Jake had to get there organically he’d have too much brain damage to negotiate deals.

Boxing isn’t a popularity contest, officials have sold out the sport in pursuit of viewership.

I’m actually surprised at the vote and thought it’d be much closer.

I’m cheering for Tyson but I wouldn’t be surprised if Paul wins.

The voting appears to reflect hope over reality.

Unless the fight is rigged, Jake Paul has the advantage. I personally think both are clowns but in this clown fight the younger clown will likely prevail, again assuming everything is on the up and up…

It was in the phrasing of the question.

“Who do you like to win”

Undoubtly, Mike Tyson.

Reality is Jake is likely to win based on a myriad of factors

Right … I used “like” sort of as a euphemism. Anyway, we won’t have to wait long now.

Assuming this is an actual fight and not a preplanned staged result, I find the "contest" intriguing. It really is a generational thing with all us who have seen Mike Tyson fight in his prime wondering how he could possibly lose to a Youtuber, even if he's less than half his age. On the other hand, the younger generation sees Mike Tyson as an old man that cannot win. I'm not rooting for either one, but intrigued by the youth v experience factor - and I'm not paying $$$ for PPV.

Anyone else see the 3part Netflix episodes on the training leading up to tonight's fight? Many similarities between the Rocky movie (I forgot which one) where Rocky goes to the mountains to train old school style and Drago?, the Russian youngster with his new age training techniques. Paul kind of looks like a Viking and has these new age recovery techniques including red light tanning bed whilst Tyson is the "Rocky" with his old school regiment. I'm sure this wasn't an accident in the way this was marketed.

Good for you, I wish I was as enthusiastic about it, and I’m a massive boxing fan.

It was likely rigged on the phonecall that set up this fight. Think how much the rematch will bring in.

That they do! I remember the Mike Tyson who was the baddest man on the planet - who went into the ring with plain black trunks, no socks and black boots and destroyed people within a couple rounds. I also remember watching live as Buster Douglas did the unthinkable in Tokyo, Japan and shocking the world. Tyson is the attraction here as I don't think there's another name that would have attracted this much attention.

Agree there's lots of hype, like Liberty Media does with F1. Let's hope this boxing production delivers entertainment for the fans.

yeah pretty much this, i think the reason it's got so much hype is because no one knows what will actually happen and how good tyson will be

I originally thought Mike was going to crush him. Now, I'm not so sure. I watched the 3 episode Netflix special leading up to the fought and Jake is starting to win me over. I'm really torn now.

Tyson vs Paul fight tonight. Who are you for?

I’ve always enjoyed watching boxing. Grew up watching Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, George Foreman and of course Tyson. Tyson and Sugar Ray have always been the most electric of all those fight. I’m pulling for Tyson to knock out this punk Paul. Thoughts?

Could care less. Only Tyson is the real boxer. This new form of entertainment representing itself as a real sport is pointless.

Not a fan of Tyson’s for obvious reasons. Don’t know the other guy, so don’t really care. I’ve always enjoyed boxing , though, and my husband wants to watch, so I guess I will, too. Guess I’m rooting for the other guy.

They’re both chancers. I expect it’ll go the distance, please the pay per view lot. It’s not a real fight. None of these exhibition matches we’ve seen over the last few years are. Closest I’ve seen was Ngannu/Fury/Joshua

All the others are an utter joke and anyone who buys them needs their head read more than paying £25k for a GRNR
