Has anyone grown to appreciate Tudor more and more over time?

While I own a couple of Tudors, and do appreciate them, they are attempting exclusivity with some of their pieces such as the pink and flamingo chronos. I see a trend here with Tudor for some time to come.

Bottom line….

Whether or not Tudor “is for you” , there is no way a watch enthusiast isn’t at least appreciative of what the brand is doing.

No other brand listens to and is more pro active to the enthusiast in my opinion. Whether it be sizes, or complications, chronometer certifications, or in house movements.

When you take the price point of what Rolex was in the 70’s and 80’s and adjust for inflation, you land close to what Tudor sells for presently. It’s not in the same category of what Rolex has now become, but it shouldn’t be at less than half the cost.

Sometimes I see watches and I say to myself “I can’t imagine how anyone could possibly think of buying that, but you do”. With maybe one exception*, every time I see I Tudor on a wrist, I totally “get it”, whether or not I would actually enjoy the watch myself.

The brand is doing a lot right in a world where other brands seem to be getting wrong.

I like all sorts of watches. There is one Tudor model I particularly like, which is why I own it. Beyond that I don't overthink it.

Haven’t found one that caused me to purchase but I won’t say never.

I think a “pepsi” GMT would be perfect for my son (he expressed interest) but only if ever available sub 38mm.

I' m totally in your line of thought.
Despite owning other nice watches even a Patek, Rolex Sub , Omega Speedy 321 etc I'm in love for my Black Bay 54.
It makes a very nice watch!! Excellent value for money. I got it for $2,300 box and papers from a friend that was asking $3 K I think I got a real bargain for an excellent watch.
Also I feel safe using it almost everywhere. It's like owning a nice modern Buick or Honda Accord even if in your garage you have some 911 or Mercedes.

I’m in the pro Tudor camp. Very happy with my stable of Rolexes but, as their prices continue to rise, I’ve started losing interest in adding additional models (at MSRP). For me Tudor represents a low key, well made, fairly priced option that I find very appealing. Do I like every model they put out? No, of course not but they offer plenty of compelling options that resonate with me.

The Pelagos FXD line in particular is where they really shine (for me) and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what they release at W&W.

I am the same way. I've owned multiple Tudors. My favorites have been the blue OG Pelagos and the BB Chrono. I've also owned a BB58, BB GMT, Ranger, North Flag, and Pelagos FXD. I always get bored of them after several months to years.

I was missing the blue Pelagos, so I got the FXD, which I thought was very cool for a while, but got bored of that too.

The BB Chrono is a very handsome watch, especially with a jubilee style bracelet, but it always felt too thick. Same with the slab-like BB GMT and North Flag cases, though the North Flag itself was a very cool watch. They just don't wear too well.

The BB58 wears much nicer, but the matte blue one I had wasn't exciting, and the Pelagos had a nicer blue anyway.

I think they're very well made watches with great movements. They stand toe to toe with most base-level Omegas (not so much the higher end ones) in my mind. But the many Tudors I've owned have never stuck around for too long.

Personally, I prefer the vintage Tudors, such as the big block chronographs. I have not warmed up to the latest models offered by Tudor.

Yes and no. Most of the modern ones I’ve owned have come and gone - BB GMT (2x), 79220n (2x), 79220r, ranger, ETA and in-house Pelagos, etc., along with a snowflake sub I owned.

A 79090 I have is going on the chopping block soon as I just don’t wear it and some days I feel the same about the BB Pro.

A few of them are keepers for me - I like my BB 58 GMT a ton and it gets lots of wrist time. I admire the current Ranger and 54 a ton, but not enough to pick them up.

But I like watches at all different price points for various reasons, and I enjoy the 58 gmt for what it is (and isn’t). Cool, relatively low key option.

Four Tudors stand out for me:

Black Bay 58 - Blue Dial
Black Bay GMT - White Dial
Black Bay Chrono -White Dial
Ranger

I love all these. But here is the issue. I already have other watches that I prefer over each of them.

1) I have a blue dial Omega Seamaster that renders the Blue dial 58 redundant. 2) I have no need for another GMT since I have a GMT BLNR. 3) I have a Speedmaster, so I don’t want another chrono.

Ironically, it’s the Ranger that could possibly be the only Tudor I ever buy since I don’t really have anything like that.

Also, sometimes I wish I bought the BB58 instead of the Seamaster. But I never lose sleep over it.

I got caught up in the BB hype early on but sold multiple watches. I've a couple but they're not the hyped ones. No interest in those. I've got a number of dive watches, but none are Tudors. Ranger and Royal are the ones I like.

I have 7.7” wrists but the Seamaster is noticeably the biggest, thickest, heaviest watch I have. Sometimes I wish I got the BB58 instead. I think with the BB58, it wouldn’t be so dramatically bigger than my other watches.

And whoever says a Seamaster wears as small as a Submariner has absolutely no idea what they’re taking about. My Submariner feels svelte by comparison.

The other issue is the date function (believe it or not). I wouldn’t mind having less watches with the date function.

Tudor are very nice watches and unlike others, I don’t see a big fall off in fit & finish to my Rolex. Both my BB Chronograph and Harrods get their fair share of wrist time.

My biggest problem with Tudor is that many of their watches don't have a date complication.
Otherwise I would like more of their watches.

Yes. BB58 GMT is next on my list. I like the current Tudor design language a lot better than the Rolex sports watches that have become too big and blingy.
