Hi Lisa- I sure don't want to dredge up your angst, now that you are in a happy mood....I've just got to catch up with the coffeeshop a bit! there was mention of individual lesson plans- you know thats not a bad idea- maybe P is getting overwhelmed with the demands - to me her reactions sound like anxiety attack- which has physical symptoms- its not just "in her head"; I'll bet she is a very bright girl...and i'll bet she is an extremely sensitive girl too-...maybe she is over stimulated? Ours is just a lazier way of pronouncing.
Aha iz jus a lazia way of pronouncin

See how that is?
Your Warren = Rarren seems like a whole other way. Where did that first R sound come from?

Not to spoil your fun Wes but apparently this is a myth as there is no reason why a spider would ever go in another animal's mouth, let alone staying long enough for the said animal to consume it.

I hope this reassures you a little bit though!
Carl- you and your amazing spider sense is very reassuring!!

From the hard time we have when we are trying to pronounce a W and a R in the very same word...

It actually comes from my mother (more or less), she keeps telling me about that friend she had when she was younger who couldn't say Warren Beatty (she woukd say the classic Rarren), she also had a hard time saying Dustin Hoffman and would rather say something that sounded like Dusty Hofty...

Carl - I found out the spider is called a Mouse Spider. And apparently he's quite venomous. Glad he lives in the garden and not in the house!

Pretty sure Number 5 looks like him. Or rather, her. I'm reading that the females are somewhat sluggish (she was) and tend to stay in their burrows their entire lives. I upset her home when I dug the hole for the mums:

Maybe if this behavior continues consider getting her a tutor and see if this helps.....she may just be bored with school like I was and that is reflecting in her performance and school work. and seeing that she is almost a 'dreaded teenager' the roller coater ride has begun.....and remember there are no seat belts or survival guides!!!

Lisa,

I've just read that little top 10 and I am quite glad you didn't annoy her too much as well but I don't know how scared we should be of those spiders in this top 10. Indeed, the brown recluse and the black widows are animals we definitely shouldn't bug too much (tee-hee, I made another joke...) but as far as I know spider bites are usually very dangerous only if you are allergic to them (more or less like wasps' venom).

Of course, I wouldn't have taken the chance of letting it run on your body but if this can reassure you (although it doesn't seem like you were scared at all...could you just act as if you were scared so I can have my white knight moment? ) I don't think you risked your life around this cutie!

P.S.: I know Peter has a Goliath Birdeater (the real name is Theraphosa Blondi), quite the big girl! He often told us its leg span was as big as a dinner plate and he named her Matilda...

Thanks Lisa! I figure 3 people could easily sprawl out comfortably if the little ottoman is used! So handy, as many an argument over space will now be avoided!
