I'll wear anything that is 36mm to 42mm but nothing larger. I was channel surfing last night & I came upon SHOPHQ and they were selling Invicta watches. They were showing a 56mm watch that had to be almost a inch thick, it looked ridiculous. Then this guy goes on to say that it can be worn with a suit or even a tux. That's when I changed the channel LOL..

Uber large watches make sense to me if 1) you have wrists the size of Andre the Giant, or 2) it is being worn over a wet suit. Other wise, no way.

I have always thought watches are becoming too large.
For men any watch between 35-42mm is a fine size. I don't like how watches are getting bigger and bigger. IMO 42mm is pushing it however still acceptable- no larger though IMO

I don't plan to buy any more 40mm models either. DSSD, EXP II, YM II, and AP ROO are all possibilities now.

Nope. My wrist size is perfect for 36-39mm.
Any watch can look like a woman's watch. I've seen women wearing 42mm watch. It all depends on your thinking. Just enjoy wearing your watch

All depends on wrist size. I have large wrists so the 41mm DJ works perfect for me. For folks with smaller wrists, that size looks too big.

Obviously, I'm biased due to the fact I own and love my DSSD. However, I feel I can offer some useful perspective on the matter and the original point made by the OP. Big watches aren't a trend, they are a fact IMO. I was out shopping with the family yesterday and window shopping, as a complete generalisation the Rolex window display looks small when you look at omega, tag, Cartier and pretty much any other brand. Other brands tend to have a much greater variety of sizes to please everyone

And no bigger! I've been wearing my Father 's watch which is 33mm recently. Leave it on for a week and you get used to the size.

That's how I felt after trying on my Sub after wearing the DSSD for a month. It felt like cheap tin. It would be nice if there was a concession that 40MM and smaller is dependent on wrist size and build. I think there's just too many "skinny-wristers" that are upset that they can't pull off the DSSD.

The "trend" isn't really reflected by what watches are available but rather by what people are buying/wearing. For example, the PAM Luminor and Radiomir didn't just get big in the last decade; they've always been big.

The question of being in fashion or not is more answered by the current market shares that various size watches in the luxury category occupy compared to the last few years. Don't know the answer to that but I'm pretty confident that Rolex sells more watches every year and they don't have much to offer above 42mm. So, whatever the trend actually is, apparently Rolex is not out of fashion.

Starbuckboss, not only does it appear that Rolex, Breitling Omega, AP, Panerai etc have to employ you for advice in regards to the size of future watches, you have elevated yourself to forum spokesman. You obviously prefer small watches for your small wrist, that is your choice but not everyone agrees with you, in fact the majority of the watch buying public obviously don't. Ps I know exactly who the avatar is but that particular picture does look like the aforementioned, it was supposed to be light hearted.
