It’s anyone disheartened that Tudor is looking like a Rolex knock off brand more and more? I think I liked it better when they looked like Rolex but just different branding. Like when the Mercury Capri could have been mistaken for a Mustang circa 1988…

That said and I do like the brand; the only winners to me are Pelagos and BB Ceramic.

If it’s really 14.6 mm, then a no go, for me. I do like it’s looks, though, including the yellow accents.

I really hope it’s snaked than 14.6 but that’s what I’ve read. Not sure how a smaller watch in that thickness would work. Works better in 41 at that height maybe? Also probably why it’s not called a 58…cuz if it’s thickness

Thickness is going to be the greatest thing affecting this watch especially when you scale down the case.

Overall best launch between Rolex and Tudor combined.

I just put the 16710 on the caliper its about a 2mm difference less

The Norquain same mov't family is thicker that 14.6

How? Both minute and hour hands are white, leaning towards yellow and gmt hand is yellow. In day light, it would be hard to discern IMO. Red gmt hand would have been better.

In the pictures you posted, the yellow 24 hour hand stands out much more than the red on the Rolex. In day light I suspect it would be even easier.

I appreciate that the yellow hand on the BB Pro is closer in colour to the lume on the hour and minute hands than red would be, but in every picture I've seen so far it is incredibly easily identifiable, whereas the darker red hand on the Rolex can be harder to see.

Caveat - I'm saying that with perfect (as tested) colour vision

I do think it’s intentional. Tudor has always followed the Rolex designs. But Rolex will never be what it was, and new and old customer’s can get a feel for those times through Tudor without having to go the vintage route

Like many I’d prefer it be a tad thinner, but not a deal breaker. I don’t love the rivets, but overall winner.

The revised clasp looks much better too.

Surprised no one mentioned about the chapter ring dial. I really dig it. And, the no surrounding hour marks and big crown are a big plus IMO.
Love the vintage aesthetics that this new release brings.
Too thick overall? It might be a subjective opinion, depending on who wears it and how big his wrist is.

Size and look very similar to 16570, folks interested should probably get those instead. Love mine!

The human eye visualizes yellow on black better than red on black, fyi

I agree with your misgivings. I thought Tudor did a fantastic job last year with their 2021 releases. I get that it's hard to amaze year in and year out, but today's releases look like homage city. The Pro looks like it's trying really very hard to be a first gen Explorer 2, and the GMT looks like one of those faded bezel Root Beers you can find on Chrono24 now and then.

The gem-set Tudors are just flat out ugly in my opinion, and the two-tone Chrono just looks wrong. They went too far on those.

There's really nothing "new".

As a prior owner of the BB Pepsi GMT (guessing there are many on this forum), which comes in at a substantial 14.7mm, the Pro's 14.6mm is a deal breaker. I was super stoked when I saw the Pro photos, but my excitement quickly flamed out when I read 14.6! I think 13-13.25 would be acceptable on a 39mm case. As Rolex owners we have been spoiled w/ the Crown's ability to minimize case width. I thought maybe 904L vs 316L played a factor in width, i.e., maybe 904L is stronger and thus you needed less of it, but alas they seem to have similar hardness ratings. I ultimately sold my Tudor GMT after only a month of ownership (coincidentally enough to pick up an Explorer) as the proportions (thickness and lug width), for my taste, were off. D*mn Rolex for spoiling it for me as I really wanted to like the Pro! One other point to put this into perspective and question why Tudor can't figure out how to stuff a GMT complication into a thinner case: my 1968 1675 is only 13mm thick!

I don’t think wrist size affects peoples’ opinions here. I’m a woman who has a 6 1/2 inch wrist. I wear a BB58 well, in my opinion. It’s about overall proportion. The BB58 was such a big hit because of its perfect proportions. To make that same case 2 mm thicker was a mistake by Tudor. They should have figured out how to fit the GMT complication into a thinner movement, and manufactured that movement. If they had, this new watch would have been something special. This Black Bay Pro is going to reside in “Flip City”.
