Anyone have any experience with Rancourt Chandler LWB? I'm looking for something in navy and they are available from Rancourt. Any sizing advice??

And, I have a questions for the experts, please. Should I buy a tree for the loafers? Loafers cost is $175 and the tree is $98... I'm not sure about the cost/benefit in this case

Personally I tree all my leather shoes. It not only helps to maintain their form it also helps maintain their freshness. As Wes pointed out no way should you have to pay $98 for a pair of trees. Nordstrom Rack used to sell trees for $11 a piece. The best deals however used to be Joseph A Banks when the had their 3 for 1 sales. Not sure if they still do or not but those trees were even better and at 3 for 1 it ended up being about $8 a pair.

Well, I guess I did not do my homework.
I basically have all Johnston & Murphy's shoes as daily wear and a couple of S. Ferragamo - one casual and one dress. But, I do not have any trees.

So, I went into an Allan Edmonds north of Houston, to get couple of pairs - and I bought these two shoes you see above, and I just asked for one tree.

I checked the prices of all items, including the trees. I believe it was $98, but I now I am not sure, It could have been the belt I got. So, I will double check the receipt tonight when I get back home. Thanks for all the wealth of information on this thread guys...

I came back home and checked my receipt. And, yes, I'm sorry, the tree was $26.95, the belt was the item that was $98. So, my post above was incorrect.

In any case, I will try to buy some cheaper trees for all my shoes.

The trees you purchased where made by woodlor and those same trees can be found elsewhere and generally for less. In fact those trees are the same exact trees Joseph A Banks sells. They're good trees. The thing is don't get the cheap trees with no or very little heel. Those are typically bad for your shoes,

Well, I'll be waiting for a long time before it snows where I live, but I have some upcoming trips where I may encounter snow and YES, the Galways are coming with me.

Oh no, I've worn them 4-5 times already lol. I initially thought they would require a bit of break in, but they have been so comfortable since the first wear. They are a real treat to wear.

There was absolutely no breaking period for my Zug Galways either. But then again breaking in any of my Edward Greens or Gaziano and Girling are pretty non existent as well. I do have a ritual where I wear them at home for three nights for about an hour before wearing the whole day.

I capitalise on being British so I have a fair few pairs

My fav are cheaney, I have a few pairs of their monkstrap and cap toe oxfords

I have some Barker black oxfords and some church oxfords

Cheaney all day long for me.

I have a couple of pairs of Cheaney, I agree, fabulous shoes. They have a shop in the Victoria quarter in Leeds, well worth a look if one is ever lucky enough to be in Yorkshire.

I'll do that with leather soled shoes, but my last few pairs have been on rubber so I just start wearing them right away.

Sorry I meant to suggest they can be worn both casually with jeans or biz casual. I wouldn't wear them with a suit although as a height challenged male I could use the heal.
