Thank you
I think it's because some people are so clueless they don't even realize they're being insulting. Or possibly, that they know it's insulting but they don't like women so they'll post negative junk any chance they get.

I agree - it's a really good looking watch, Bas. I chose a Date over an AK a few years ago because I wanted a date function. Some of the vintage AKs had a date, but I love good lume so much I'd prefer a new model.

I'm not such a big fan of the cyclops on Rolex watches, so I'd always get a no-date Rolex watch myself.

My husband felt the same way - not a big cyclops fan. So he bought a Sea-Dweller since it has a date but no cyclops. However, since he had laser vision correction done, now he can't see the tiny date window without wearing reading glasses, so now he says a date function doesn't even matter.

Hi everyone Wow lots of catch up in the CS

Milan was great, just recovering now. Was really hot, and think I spent most of the weekend queueing up for stuff. The Monza F1 was a great experience, first time I've been to an F1 race. Will try and post couple pics soon.

Art really happy you went for the new GMT, awesome choice. We need more photos. So I'll be expecting the LV to be delivered to me soon.

Lisa loved the family pic

Hi J. The last supper was top of my list when I went to Milan about 10 years ago. Think I even booked tickets or queue jump. And when I got there, there was a sign saying the staff was on strike that day

No chance seeing it this time either, what with the F1. I did mention it to my mates and they just laughed.

So I'll have to go back again one day.

Will post some up soon, hopefully. Just recovering on the sofa today, back to work tomorrow.

Think most my pics are rubbish with blurry F1 cars. Will see if the other guys have any good pics.

I used to prefer having a date on my watch, but since getting the Daytona, I find I'm actually now gravitating toward the cleaner dials without date. Definitely prefer them

Aww thanks Karis.

I vote silver AK. Or what about a silver dial with pink markers. My mum trying one on.

Did the one you ultimately got for your mum have the pink markers? I really like those.

No, I had many sleepless nights agonising over the decision but got her just the straight silver dial.

That one is pretty....hmmm, do you think it's too 'trendy' with those colored batons vs. the more classic white batons that come on the other dials (straight silver, salmon, etc)?

I think that one has two-color lume, Karis! Which probably matters much less to you than it does to me!

I don't think it's trendy at all. Just a bit feminine. A little more understated than the pink floral dial, but still a splash of pink.

Two color lume is cool! Know you love it. You have it on your newer DJ, right?

I'll be visiting more ADs so that I can see more variations. This will be a tough one, as I like more than one dial.... I so wish the engine turned bezel was still offered. Means I'd have to source a minty used one to get that bezel.

Is the domed bezel the only options these days? Is it white gold or stainless?

Yes, my new DJ has blue-lumed numbers and green-lumed hands.

One thing's for sure - your search will be fun!

Is SS but you can get fluted as well, but no engine turned bezel any more.

I was never keen on the domed when I got my DJ, now I love it, strange how you can change your mind.

Karis think you'll find the newer AK will feel much more solid, especially the bracelet and clasp to the older model, can you not get to like the domed?

As Wes said, the new ones only come with domed or fluted, and I wouldn't want fluted on an AK. I can still get the new style with engine-turned, but I'd have to search for one...not like I can pop into an AD and get it.

Ha, yes the searching will be FUN!!!

Wes, I was definitely impressed with the new style AK...nice solid piece! I don't really HATE the domed, but I feel like the engine turned bulks the case up a bit (in a good way) and adds something cool. It's OK, right now it's more about figuring out which dial I'd go for....could always try and source a minty used one with engine turned bezel in the new style

One of the improvements that Rolex has made it the anti reflective coating on the cyclops. Really makes a difference. Now to go get Wes his other photo. Still waiting for his $6000 check to show up to that I can send him my LV.
