This is me at work, proudly wearing my Dad's 1949 Everest exactly 60 years to the day from the event that it commemorates.

What a fantastic watch, NorthernPike. I'm sure it will be passed down through the generations and get even more special as the years pass.

One more ... can't see my Sub LV behind the podium, but I was wearing it.

In this picture, Rear Admiral Gerry Beaman was speaking as my guest of honor at my retirement from the US Navy in 2007. As you might have guessed, this was done in the Captain's Inport Cabin onboard USS Abraham Lincoln.

Nice pics, Mark. Beautiful family, too. What did you do in the Navy? What are your plans for the next 40 years?

Thanks all.

I was a Surface Warfare Officer (Nuclear), meaning I was trained to be a nuclear engineer and served the first half of my career working in nuclear propulsion on cruisers and carriers and got my Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Once I progressed, I went topside for the second half where I served as Operations Officer, Executive Officer, on a Admiral's staff, then Commanding Officer (USS MOUNT VERNON (LSD39) and USS INGRAHAM (FFG61)) and finally on another Admiral's staff before retiring after 22+ years.

Plans for next 40 ... well I was an executive at a solar integration company for a while, then general manager at a software company, and now executive at a fuel cell company. My current company will (God willing) go public (or be bought up) in 2012 or early 2013 and then I'll cash in my stock options. After that, I'll do whatever I please since I'll be set.

One more pic ... this time from USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN76)

Mark - I grew up in the Virginia Beach/Norfolk Virginia area. Home of the North Atlantic fleet. It seems EVERYBODY passes through Norfolk at some point in their career. What about you?

Thank you both. This watch comes with a great, but very sad story that I'm proud to share with my fellow enthusiasts. The damage to the back occurred when it got run over by a car after a motorcycle accident. Here's the front.
