Somebody gave me the name of a guy here in Arizona that does bracelet re-builds. I have Tudor 9315 folded link that I'm going to let him work on.
If the results are good, I'll pass along the information to my TRF friends |

My recent experience with Michael has been very satisfactory so far. After contacting him to assure that he was accepting new work, I shipped my 9315 folded link per his instructions. I received a quick email telling me that he received the watch. He mentioned in both messages to me (the initial correspondence and the follow up confirming receipt) that it would be 10-12 weeks as an estimate and re-iterated cost in both emails. I appeciated that he let me know the band was in his possession and then settled back to let him do his magic. I did not ask for, nor expect, regular updates from him throughout the process. The band was received by him on 17 Feb, and I received an email from him yesterday (14 April) that my band was ready to ship along with a request for me to submit payment via PayPal. This beat his estimated time frame, which was a pleasant surprise. However, I would not have been concerned had it taken longer than his estmate. Many factors go into turnaround time of a small shop doing specialized work. The charge amount was exactly what had been quoted all along, and I immediately took care of my end of the transaction. I expect that it will take several days for the band to make the transit from HK, and will comment on its renewed condition in this thread when it arrives. So far, MY has done everything and more that I would hope for in regards to customer service and communication. I understand there will always be exceptions where things don't go perfectly, but I have nothing but postive things to say, and I fully expect the bracelet to be VASTLY improved at what was a VERY reasonable cost. I am already making plans to send him a folded link Jubilee after the Oyster is returned.

He must be getting all his orders out because I received an email from him on Saturday that my bracelet was done as well. I sent him a gold president bracelet from 1986 that had a fair amount of stretch. He received on Jan. 13 and took about 15 weeks which was fine by me - especially with the 10 day Chinese new year holiday in there.
Anyway, so far MY has been great - very communicative - no issues. As soon as I get my bracelet I will post pictures of before and after - I'm hoping it is much improved, because it was pretty much toast when I sent it to him. |

so far so good
I have a president bracelet with him right now. He has been communicative and responded to every email I have sent. It took a week to ship via Registered Mail to Hong Kong. He said to expect 8-10 weeks, I am planning on 12. He has been wonderful to work with so far. I have been very pleased...

Referring back to my post #216; my renewed 9315 arrived this morning. I apologize for the quick post without pics, but just couldn't wait to comment on how fantastic the thing now looks. I expected a noticable improvement, but I am not wrong to say that this looks like a brand new band. I did not expect delivery to be this fast (as I just was notified and paid my bill on Saturday), and I didn't dare to hope that the results would be this outstanding. I am a VERY satisfied customer.

It can take a while for repair and with the 12 to 15 hour time difference communication can sometimes take longer than some people want but his work is exceptional. 93150 with substantial stretch returned to like new condition.

9315 Restoration - sorry for the pic quality. The first photo (the "before") is especially bad. I didn't take specific photos before I sent the bracelet to MY and this is the only pic I had that showed the original condition. I took an "after" pic of the same general location tonight just to approximate a direct comparison. The photos really don't do the work justice.

It was $100 plus $28 for return shipping. It came back to me via second day FedEx. I paid $15 or so myself to send him the band registered USPS. It took exactly two weeks to get to him. Total cost out of my pocket was about $143, and total time door to door was just over 10weeks (including the two weeks it took to get it to him).

MY seems to have the bracelet tightened tighter than OEM.

Michael Young Repair
I received my Jubilee bracelet back from Michael Young on Tuesday May 29th.
I was very impressed with the workmanship. If any of you recall, my bracelet was stuck in customs for nearly a month and the United States Postal Service was unable to track it once it left the international sort facility in Chicago. I highly recommend that you never use USPS to ship internationally. Anyway, as I said, Michael did a great job and I am extremely happy to be wearing my grandfather's watch again. The band had become so stretched out that I had to have links removed in order to continue wearing it. I sent the links with the bracelet and Michael put them back in. The cost was $150 plus shipping. I've attached photos. I think the before and after pics speak for themselves. |

I have heard that there is a resource in downtown Los Angeles that can do this type of restoration. Does anyone know about this?

I just got my 14k jubilee bracelet back from MY last week and it looks brand new! Like many others have stated, he took a couple days to respond but in my case, did the job in less than a month and he quoted me 8 - 10 weeks initially. $1000 for the job and $28 for the return postage. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous about sending it so far afield but I couldn't be happier with the result and would do it again tomorrow.

Fantastic job. I would have said unbelievable, but I have my own good experiences of Michael Young’s work.
I would consider a bracelet refurbishment from Michael Young as a very viable alternative to a Rolex Service bracelet exchange. You won’t need me to tell you which costs less. Quote:

I would like everyone to know I had my 1992 DateJust repaired by MY and it is amazing. I had the band tightened, serviced, new sapphire crystal and the original Rolex silver diamond dial repainted black. I sent him the watch around the 10th of May and on the 15th of May I received an email that he had received the watch and was proceeding with repairs. I just picked up the watch today August 16th. I am happy.
