i have my name down on one of these and a deposit paid. but I've since bought a 1970 rolex sub and wonder if the tudor will get much wrist time.

I'm actually thinking about cancelling my order and going for a new date just instead.
opinions?

Which DJ? TT with the updated lugs?

I think (it has to be) Rolex will release a stainless steel version next year or the year after with the updated lugs. So perhaps that's worth waiting.

Gotta be the 36 SS/WG with a blue dial... Lovely!

Curiously, what part of this watch is WG?

So I spoke with the Tudor rep that came out to the 2018 BW preview last night. He mentioned that 58 will be released around mid/late Aug (latest) possibly sooner. They would rather ‘say’ it will come out later then sooner.

........ok so I went to an AD where I am on the waiting list for the 58 and asked them is it true that the watch has been delayed. He said he took delivery of one 2.5 weeks ago and it went to the first person who paid a deposit for it......he said they are coming in slow...but they are coming...

I have dealt with this guy before but honestly I am not sure if I believe it! Not when you hear from anyone else it has been delayed.

This AD already has the Champange S&G dial on leather and the blue face 36's so they do have some Baselworld 2018 stock. He also said the waiting list for the Tudor Pepsi GMT is 18. So the demand for the new models are defintely there.

Does anyone else think the gold bezel digits make it look like someone threw a stainless steel bracelet on what was meant to be a two tone watch? Lol

That’s the only thing I have against the 58

Yes, I do, too. Hence why I prefer it on the navy strap that has the gold-colored line down the middle. It makes it the least of the odd choices as compared to the leather and bracelet versions. And likely the most comfy. I have to consider the extreme temperature fluctuations and desert-like heat where I live, so the strap is the best choice in that regard, also. No concerns with sweat or uncomfortable expansion of the wrist.

Agree. Too much gold on this IMO. But Tudor offers lots of options. Everyone can find something that’s just right!

Stopped into an AD yesterday here in Arizona. Had the GMT in stock. As for the 58, he said it was delayed. Per his Tudor rep, delayed till at the earliest August.

Does anyone think that this bb58 CAN be a limited edition/produced just this year since 2018 is 60years anniversary for Tudor oyster prince submariner (ref.7924)?

Love the concept of the new 58. Will it ever be available without a gilt dial.

i think the factory would see how the response and sales are for the 58 before making such a decision. the factory at the end of the day, depend on sales figures, unlike us collectors, who prefer rarity, to stop a particular production.

Icon7 Tudor Black Bay 58 released in UK 10-Jul

Hi guys

Just to confirm that the BB58 is now available in UK, I ordered mine in early May so was first on the list with my local AD (Tunbridge Wells - Burrells) and I picked it up today. It is absolutely beautiful in the flesh, I am so pleased I took the risk and ordered early. I can't stop looking at it now!!

Like a Rolex I don't think Tudor accept price reductions on the RRP but the AP did throw in a nice double winder. Interested to hear if anyone manages to get a discount. Any questions on the watch do let me know.

The depth is 11.9mm by the way - someone else asked about that on this forum. The standard BB is 14.75mm, and this really makes a difference. Brand new in house movement to fit this 39mm and thinner case, the MT5402

Cheers

Roger

What's the lug to lug height ? How big is your wrist? Never got the original BB because it was just too big.

Curious about the lug-to-lug distance as well.

hey danw

Its 20mm lug to lug and my wrist is pretty average at 7 inches. For my wrist it feels great but I think it'll fit well on smaller too - the lugs taper into the wrist really nicely.

Here are some tech specs from monochrome-watches site:

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS – TUDOR BLACK BAY FIFTY-EIGHT 39MM
Case: 39mm stainless steel, height 11.9mm - polished and satin finish - unidirectional rotating bezel - screw-down crown in satin-brushed steel with Tudor rose logo - water-resistant to 200m
Movement: Tudor manufacture calibre MT5402 - automatic -bidirectional rotor - 28,000vph - silicon balance spring - 70h power reserve - COSC-certified - hours, minutes, seconds - stop-seconds for precision timesetting
Bracelet: riveted stainless steel bracelet with polished and satin finishes and folding clasp and safety catch- brown leather strap - black fabric strap with gold band - lug to lug 20mm

So its 2mm thinner than the standard BB and also 2mm less wide. The steel strap is also super comfortable. Hope that helps buddy

I think the question was the lug to lug as in the "length" of the watch from the end of one lug to the other. It's the longest measurement of the watch.
