That’s what I heard, really not surprised either. Great color, and the Country Grain is perfect for these boots as well.

The deco last appears to have a very tight waist and suited for those with a high arch. Given that most country boots and work boots are built on very roomy lasts, I wonder if these boots will cause more fatigue after longs periods of being on your feet. |

I splurged on some Ralph Lauren blue suede chukka boots. Very comfortable. I'll post photos when I get some spare time. Wife is sick so I am failing at being a nursemaid or nurse person. To be honest, I prefer to be the sick one who gets to stay in bed. I know, I'm going to hell for that.

Great color and that sole is serious. So what I'm seeing from this (unless it's the picture), is that G&G lasts are on the narrow side? Or at least that one is very narrow? |

G&G's are sleek or more narrow overall. However even with a medium foot I find their average width or MH71E to be an extremely good fit for my feet.

The sole looks a lot like a Vibram sole, but feels a little spongier than a typical hiking shoe sole. I quite like them. |

Besides possibly the Deco where I have no experience the main difference for the majority of the G&G Lasts are the toe. The TG73 for example where the toe is more narrow but then again that is their chiseled Last.

I don't know, and the shoes don't say. They have a very soft crepe rubber sole and they have a tan leather contrasting welt/sole so they look pretty sharp. Photos tomorrow.

If you can, get a picture of the RL label inside the shoe. We might be able to ID the maker from the label.

How many of you are into shoes... (Dress Shoes)?
Thanks for the enabling. Very happy with my choice. Perfect fit. I have a RL belt in almost this exact same leather
Appreciate the help with the selection. Still after something a little more casual in a light tan boot but totally digging these.

Pretty sure I said this before but you just can’t go wrong when choosing C&J. Light tan? I would highly recommend a Galway (EG) in Antique Edwardian. Either 64 or 82 Last depending on the look your going for. 64 in Country Calf or 82 in Calf and possibly suede. One being more smart than casual but both being casual.

Congrats! The Conistions are great boots. I sold mine because I wanted a pair of grained (Zug) Galways and I thought that the two boots would be too similar. The country calf leather that C&J uses is great and breaks in very nicely. The leather becomes very supple. |

Probably the only thing I like about this weather. Getting a chance to wear some fabulous boots lately.

The past week has been pretty warm so I didn't get a chance to wear my boots, but this coming week will cool down a bit. I am hoping that we have a cold AND WET winter so I can put my Galways to good use.

We’ve actually been getting weather below zero here. The cold alone might not be to bad except for higher gas bills, but it the slick or icy driving conditions that I don’t particularly care for.

Since it rains so infrequently, lots of oils build up on the roads. The first few days of rain are especially dangerous as the oils loosen from the roads. To make things worse, many people here do not change their tires. Bald tires + oily roads = disaster waiting to happen. |

As it turns out, my John Lobb purchase may not have been such a great idea. After wearing my Lobbs, I wore my Aldens and they look so blobby in comparison. The sleeker last looks so much better

That is but one of the things you’ll notice once you start getting into the higher tier of shoemakers. Sleeker Lasts, better designs, better attention to detail, and better finishing, oh and generally better quality control.

I know the feeling. After a pair of EGs and another couple C&Js this year, I hardly ever were any of my Allen Edmonds.
